wiring kill box straight to ECU

There have been some threads with our very respected members who are wiring their MPS kill box straight to the ECU. There aren't any pictures of the installations. So I have a few questions I hope to get answers to.

1) with the plug and play Schnitz coil wiring harness are we doing this strictly to reduce excess wiring? There has to be some reason to cut into a perfectly good harness.

2) I've noticed soldering has been mentioned. Are you wiring the brown wires to the pin that is in the socket or are you actually cutting the wires and soldering the 3 wire ends back together?

Anybody have a pic or two would be great.

Thanks again for all the help.

i've read that thread more than once. it peaked my interest since Lee went from using the plug n play schnitz coil harness (which the used stuff I bought has) to hard wiring the ECU but it doesn't answer either question.

i've search for every thread i can find that mentions ecu wiring and not one of them has a picture of their splices.

Just strip back about a half inch of the insulation, wrap the mps wire around the ecu wire and soldier it, tape it, then when all four wires are soldiered and taped, wrap tape around all of them making it look like the factory wiring.

Exactly, with these specfics:

1. Do NOT cut the wires going to the ECU.

2. Stay 2 or 3 inches away from the ECU so the heat from the soldering doesn't hurt the ECU.
____________
You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.
