There's more to it than HP.
Rachael went over 210 already on the 14R out there....if you think you can put together a package that can match or beat her on a 14R then you've got it in the bag.
210-220 HP would be a good start.

Conditions are everything. I've ran the last two July Loring events and while 210 is definately doable up there with your package you're still gonna need decent weather. Heat up there in July isn't really the issue but head & side winds are.
You might want to look at the September meet for even cooler air.
Mines a '09 with headwork, 47's & a CT. I ran 202 last year then had Roy (wrongway) cut me a spare tank, added an airshifter & BST's and went 208 this year.
I weigh 200 plus gear and the tank was a BIG plus. If you're small then you should be okay with the stock one.
On MR12 mine makes around 215hp so Ali is right on the money. You'll probably need to run 204 in the mile to break 210 up there.
Your mileage may vary........

Any tire that hooks up for you and doesn't fail is good. Pirellis, Dunlops, Contis, Bridgestones, Michelins, etc. It isn't roadracing or drag racing so I would argue its not "as critical" what you pick, rather so long as it offers you enough grip, stability and safety (meaning not coming apart) it would suffice.
Don't go out there with just the gearing thats on the bike, that would be foolish. If you think you have a shot at 200 gear for that and bring -1 and -2 for over 200. Gearing is very dependent on the conditions.
A 10 mph headwind would essentially all but negate a 40 shot of dope! So invest in sprockets, just about everyone who does this sorta thing does.....and of course roadracers and drag guys do too.
