my dumbest question yet

Got half the 14r apart to do various things. Can you (how do you) remove the factory header without removing the radiator?

Thanks in advance.

Seems to me that I just removed a bolt from the lower radiator stand off bracket and was then able to pull the radiator forward from the bottom to remove the stock header pipes. I am sure that I did not have to remove the radiator to install my Brock's system.

Removing the two top bolts and the one from the motor bracket will let it drop down just put a towel on the fender.

ditto...just remove the mounting bolts and it'll move enough no problem for you. And if you are smart, you'll use an extension with a universal and have no skint knuckles.

the easy way for me was to remove the 2 top radiator bolts. i left the hoses connected and put several towls on the friont fender for the radiator to rest on.of course remove the radiator bracket bolt towards the bottom. then you got lots of room to remove the header nuts. but if you have an extension thats long enough and several swivel adaptors then thats all you need. i didnt have swivels so i just dropped radiator so to speak.

ps. i noticed when i removed my factory headers that 3 of the nuts were loose. anyone else?

I just removed the bottom bracket and swung the lower half of the radiator forwards a couple of inches.
Plenty of room to get my gorilla sized hands in there.
Yoshi headers slipped in without a problem.
