Brock's window links, is this normal, is it still safe?

I am in no way blame or saying Brocks makes a bad product. I bought these used here yesterday. They were described to me as just like new, no marks at all. Two questions come to mind for those of you who have these links. Are these pictures representative of how these links look after some use? If so then I'm glad I saved the money buying used. If not, well I bet you can guess.

Second question is how much of the strength of this pair is comprimised. The hard coat anodizing brocks uses strengthens the aluminum. Not only is the anodizing obviously gone but the bare aluminum underneath looks like it has been through a sand blaster.

Any thoughts?

I have different links but the bottom of mine have lost some of their finish also.... As far as the srength being compromised, I would guess none being that the ends are not what holds. The Inner part has all the tension on it. Why not contact Brock's if you are worried about it and get new ends?

If that is considered 'just like new' I would return them and get my money back.

Personally, I wouldn't use them.

Is it just one of the links which is like that? I was wondering if it was from a blowing exhaust system, or if it's both sides then grit blasting from the road. It looks like cosmetic damage rather than anything more serious but "like new" they certainly are not!

other than looks, those are fine. it's just the lower ends near the pavement getting blasted from road grit. You saved some money on a good set of lowering links. They were misrepresented by the seller, but you have them and they are totally usable.

Shoot them with some etching primer and paint and install. If you are riding on the road...they will just return to that same look.

It sort of depends upon which school of though you live by... Quarter Pounder is correct by many accounts.

Those links have seen some serious miles on rough roads (maybe Texas?) and that's blasting from road pebbles etc. Which appears purely cosmetic - from an 'Internet photo assessment'.

**BUT** when it comes to safety... most would say to ride on the side of caution.

ps. They are black anodized. Not mil-spec hard coated... I have never seen anything like that and we have sold MANY sets of links over the years.
