Some videos from tonights test and tune ..

Things didn't go as planned , when do they ever ?
DA was Density Altitude: 2221 feet
Relative Density: 93.66 %
Hot as hell and humidity was high ( 60 +) .. I wanted to test 3 things but only got 4 runs .. I wanted to make sure all the changes to my air shifter worked and they did.. I wanted to try the power one tire and that was a fail .. Went from 18 PSI down to 8 PSI and still had to ease it out of the hole .. Not real happy with that tire .Best 60 foot time was 1.37 the other two were 1.38s , one was 1.59 spinning hard ... The last thing i want to try was the HP coils .. Never got a good base line run because of the tire and weak 60 foot times so i didn't change out the coils .. Ended up with two 8.52 passes , one 8.57 and a 8.61 .. MPH was all over the place from 154 to 159..

The last video the motor cut off coming out of the hole for a split second .. Think the fuel was to low and got air in the pump.. Added some fuel and it went away for the next run ..

With the shifter working great ( not missing 3 gear anymore ) I was able to pull some kill time out of the box for the last run ..I was happy about that .. I think i can pull a bit more time out of the kill box and till be ok ..

Going to go back to the 008 Shinko slick .. Not happy with that power one tire .. I know the 008 slick works even on a bad track..When i go back to the 008 slick and get some good base line runs i'll test the coils ..

Oh the GoPro Hero 2 seemed to work pretty good after i figured how to turn it on ..lol

8 psi and still would not hook ... You tell me Rick .. Had to leave at 5k or less and ride out the clutch and not pin the throttle to quick or it would spin .. The hookup worked better and the 008 worked even better that the hookup.. I could run 18+ PSI in them ..

So was this a 2ct or a power race, if you tried the 2ct as I mentioned in your other post it won't work. the power race is another story. the 2ct won't work on a well prepped track for us at only 60 inch wheelbase. they are made for long life on the street.

Yes i was a bit of a waste of time ...But i did get the shifter working great and the Go Pro seemed to work pretty good also .. But i was still pissed about not being able to go into kill mode out of the hole ..Pussy footing the bike out of the gate is something i hate to do .. To make that 8.30s happen i have to be 1.30 60s ...1.37 is not going to get it done ..
I guess if you look at it this way it's not so bad .. Even with a crappy 60 foot the bike still runs 8.50s in the heat at close to 2300 DA .. If winter ever comes to FL it should be a lot of fun ..

The Power One 2CT (the one Lee used) is the correct one to use...It is the street version, the one that is available to the public for purchase. It is also the SAME tire that is being used by the NOS and Turbo guys that have gone 6.90's at the MiRock series.
Track prep and bike set up has alot to do with the traction of the tire. But make no mistake about it, this tire hooks and lasts. Poor track conditions and/or improper suspension set-up can make this and any other tire spin. That's where the Shinko 008 shines, it can compensate for those conditions while other tires cannot.

They have the pilot power which is the hi performance tire it's not marked 2CT, then they have the pilot one which is marked 2 CT. Then they have the power race. The one with 2CT on it is harder in the middle and sucks even on a well prepped track.

Well Pat i'm 99% sure the setup is good because with the shinko hookup it goes 1.30 flat 60s , I could be wrong ? I'm far from a pro on bike shock settings , but a few pros helped me with the set up... I have a really good drag shock on the bike , last night i had to make it very soft to get it to hook as good as it did ..8 PSI in the tire but still couldn't hammer it out of the hole ..The bike hooked down track real good .. It was just the starting line that was a problem ..The track owner came to me and said sorry he just didn't have time to do a real prep job on the track ..Didn't help that we had 100s but street cars on the track .. We had a few big slick tire cars but they were having problems hooking also .. I do know the 008 works great even on a bad track , so i'm going to order one ASAP ..

The Power One is not a 'Pilot' tire. It doesn't have the word Pilot any where on it.

It's a Michelin POWER ONE, and that's it, to avoid any confusion.

Lee had the right tire.

Lee, I truly believe it was the starting line conditions that contributed to the tire spin. I'm sure your suspension is correct. Street cars kill a track quick.

I would keep the Michelin just in case you happen to run a race series that requires a DOT approved street tire.
