Hook Up vs 008 Slick My first tire on my 14r is a 008 slick, still plenty of rubber on it, but it's had allot of burnout cycles on it lol, I have a new Hook Up sitting in the garage, Richcraft uses them on both his bikes, both make allot more power than mine and I never see him miss a shift like mine, looking at my data logger from 2 weeks ago I get some wheel spin in 3 and 4th gear, great air is just around the corner and I want my 5.55 or better et, so I think I will try the HU, I guess if I don't like it and can order a new 008 hehe.

I have used both and like the 008 better more traction for my local tracks.

I love the 008 .. But i get shit from other racers for using it , Like i'm cheating by using it ..

We changed from the Hookup to the 008 on both the NA14 and the Turbo Busa now. They both worked about the same on the 14 but the Turbo Busa works much better with the slick. Traction issues pretty much disappeared with the slick. I know I've read that the Hookup has a better compound in the tire but I'm just relaying what we've experienced.

ive always used the hook up. but when the one on my bike is thru im going to bite the bullet and try a micky shoot out tire. ive heard they stick like glue but dont last aslong.

I'm thinking a wider contact patch may be better, HU is a different compound than a US, 008 isn't very wide. Guess I will have to try it.

I put the mcr2 M/T on a bar bike once and it hooked up great but I haven't purchased anymore due to the high cost and short life.

The Shinko hookup is a great tire for the price, but if you're herding for traction don't get the 190 get the 200. I've never had a 008, but any time you beat somebody. They're gonna give you a hard time about the tire. the power one is a good tire. Last time I checked, it was in the 220 range, the hook up is in the 150 range. To my door, and I don't think the power one works any better than the hook up. Just be careful about over barring them.
the Mickey Thompson shoot out tire, I'm sure is a great tire, but it short-life is too much for my pocketbook

Sorry, made a typo there, should of said over burning the tire. actually it wasn't a typo, because I don't use the keyboard, I use a computer driven software called Dragon. It doesn't always say, what I say, I usually go back and check to see if it's right. Sometimes I get in a hurry, and it gets away from me. This program has helped me a lot, because when it comes to keyboards. I'm all thumbs.

3 passes every 6 months ..i can make 1 last 10 years
That was on my Gen 1 big foot ... I had 5000 passes on that bike. The 09 had 2500 passes .. That was before i got sick and was at the track twice a week with 10 to 15 passes a night ... So go stuff your pie hole Big Foot ..
