SB6 Question

Anyone know if a MSD SB6 will go on a 2012 14R?
I think it will, most of the wiring is the same.

May or may not. Even if it plugs in, they use a different ECU in the 14R.

I spoke to them and they said that it works on some bikes and not others.

I too have wondered this and eagerly await a definitive answer. That said, I'd bet that it works fine as long as the coil harness connector is the same plug and pin outs and that the crank position sensor plug has same connector & pin outs as well. I think you could make it work splicing in those connections manually if necessary. Also, I'd be willing to bet that on "it works on some bikes and not others" means it was wired incorrectly on the bikes it did not work on. Kawasaki makes them all the same.. if it works on one it will work on all unless some component has failed of course.

Maybe this will help someone with a 14r to help us find the answer. I'd sure like to know when the time comes I get a 14r.. sure like to swap it over.

Yes, the SB6 does work on the 2012. Call Colby Adams for details.

Msd's customer service sucks. Bigtime. I had a issue with a shiftlight not working on my bike and they were zero help. Even the douche bag looking guy that goes around with or factory store was a ass about it. Finally Roger Starrette stepped up and explained why it wouldn't work. Got a different brand and was happy

Great news. I keep reading in the rags that they are doing it but was not sure if it was plug and play. I did not want to contact MSD for reasons listed above. My last convo with them left me angry. Shame Really Love the SB6.
