$1,000.00 for ABS Option on 14r! Crazy!!

Kawasaki really is screwing all the potential riders who wanted the ABS option....2008 when the C-14 was released the upgrade was only $300.00 to go from non ABS, to ABS models. It is the same exact option and now they want to charge you an extra $1,000.00 for this much needed safety option.

The current retail price for it is only$15,999.00, standard model is $14,999.00. With the economy being what it is....they will probably have a big inventory on the dealer floors for sometime until they offer deep discounts to move them out....

I am very sorry to see Kawasaki ripping off Americans for this great safety option, it just isn't worth the costing.

The colors are also very poor, poor.....to choose from! By the time you pay tax, tag, shipping, and prep you can buy a Goldwing!

I had the 05 636 and it was a great street bike.
I went from the 636 to a 14, and the 636 is a ton of fun to ride on the street!

Now that ABS is available in the US on the 13, retrofiting to the 2012 14r may be a much easier possibility. I have the 2012 14r and a 2011 10r with abs. This setup on the 10r is very compact and is probably what Kawasaki is using on the 2013 14r.

The 10r ABS gained about 7lbs.over the non-ABS model. - most of which was for a larger battery.

There is an aluminum line that runs inside my battery box that is for abs.I bet the engine has to be out to run the brake lines to the abs pump.
