Lowering Rider Pegs On ZX14R
I tried doing a search but did not do very well. Do any of you have any experience with lowering the rider foot pegs on a 2012 14R ? I did the 3/4" risers on the bars and like that very much so far. I am not opposed to adjustable rear sets or something much simpler. I guess I am getting a bit older than I would like to admit to but really love this new bike. (understatement) Any help or shared knowledge will be greatly appreciated. The bike is already dropped about 3" in the rear. Brocks Alien Head 2, PCV, Thanks, Best, Phil

Buell has some pegs with a little grinding will drop about 3/4 of an inch. Corbin also makes a leg lowering kit that I tried with my 07 14, but they hit the exhaust pipe so I sent them back. If I am not mistaken the rear sets will not lower the pegs, just allow stock height or raise them from there. Like you I lowered the rear of my bike (also lowered the front about 1 inch), but put it back to stock ride height after noticing that it handled a bit "sluggishly" in the turn.

Thank You Seno, Any particular model of Buell? I believe that I may have some Buell parts available to me very close by. That might be the way to go. I thought about going to see a friend at Driven Racing but even with a possible discount their rear sets are pricey. Especially if they won't lower the peg height anyway.

XB Models N0006.1AD. I used these rode it one day & sold them & a modified side stand to a member here. They require drilling & thinning to work & the peg on the side stand needs to be ground off as it's in the way of shfting. Also the rear brake lever doesn't lower enough to be in the right position & the shift lever is too short aftermoving the pegs down. Other than that they were great......NOT.

you can always go with the Rear set relocation brackets from TWW. They have 6 different mounting points for the factory rear sets. I use them and love them, I tried the buell pegs but the made me ride too pigeon toes and it was not comfortable at all. The only down fall with the TWW brackets is they cant be lowered all the way with factory exhaust. The exhaust gets in the way.
you cant see them very well in the first pic, but i do have them on my 2012, I also had them on my 09 when i still had it.

Thank you for the warning, I think I will pass on the Buell pegs.

Thank you Patrick, these look like they may be just what the doctor ordered. They are reasonably priced and should work with my Brock's exhaust. I really appreciate the help with this. Nice forum here with help for the new kid on the block. Thank You !!

I am looking at some adjustables that rotate 360 degrees and lower the pegs by a max 25mm. They enable you to lower the pegs for distance riding and raise them back up for the twisties.

Those are most likely the Driven Racing rearsets. That is a very nice feature although I am leaning toward the Vortex at the moment just because I think that they look a little bit nicer.
Decisions, decisions.
