First problem is a "small" shot is never enough. It's like crack, you always want more.
My $.02 Let someone that know what they are doing install it and have it tuned for the spray.

Eklipse is right, a small shot is not enough. I read some where using nitrous is like having sex with a beautiful woman that has a sexually tramitted disease, you know you want to hit it but just not sure of the consequences. Be careful.

A stock motor will hold up to a 50 shot with a good tune, its not the NOS that is bad it is the lack of knowlege by the user, get an rpm window switch first and set it to on at 8000 off at 10,000 so u dont spit a shim, next get a good tune,

No power adders are "good" for a motor, especially a stock motor.
It's going to shorten the life of the motor for sure, but will something tear up immediately? Who knows.
