NHRA pro stock joke.
What do you people think of the Joke that NHRA pro stock motorcycle has become. Talk about Harley just buying a title. At the beginning of the year, they were so dominant due to the favoritism in the rules that NHRA had to do something, that they added 20 pounds to the harleys. Vance & Hines made a big deal about it, and that's all they talked about on TV at the first race where it was in effect. I told my friends that it would make no difference and the Harleys would still win. They have won every race this year. The only bikes that are close to them are the Arana's. Nobody else has a chance. They sandbag in qualifying to make it look closer, and then they somehow are always a little faster on raceday and win. It is so obvious that NHRA is favoring them as they are not even following their own rulebook. I really wish all of the other pro stock bike riders would all get together and protest by not showing up for a race. Imagine if the only 2 bikes to show up would be the harleys? Granted, they would win, but it would be very embarassing for NHRA. Mike.

This is the same rant people have been saying since Byron quit R.C. and teamed up with Terry Vance more than 30 years ago. Only a handful of great tuner/racers of that era could compete against them, Bob Carpenter, John Meyers, Dave Schultz, Superbike Mike, amongst them.
They dominated the Pro Stock Class with Kawasaki and later on with Suzuki. They might be the winningest team in motorcycle drag racing history. They broke all kind of records, now they are dominating with a Harley, and people are still complaining. Maybe people need to build a better bike to beat them.

They won't allow them to build a better bike- since the "fake" Harley motors are allowed to be so big and injected.
I won't even bother watching it- plain white trash now run it now.

Kofla; You obviously don't understand. According to the NHRA rulebook, both the engines, and bikes are supposed to be available for purchase by other teams. George Bryce has had them on order for 7 years, and has never gotten anything. The V twins are supposed to be pushrod motors. Hows come the harleys are overhead cam, and I believe they are 4 valve heads? I have a great deal of respect for Vance & Hines, and without a doubt Byron Hines is one of the smartest guys to ever wrench on a motorcycle, but I don't like the way they do anything to win. Do you remember when Andrew Hines threw the race to Eddie Krawic at Pomona so that Krawic could win the championship? NHRA pro stock motorcycle used to be very fair, and many bikes and different riders had a chance to win. Now, most of them have no chance at all, and it's because of how much money Harley pays. Did you see how NHRA just came out with a harley drag series at the divisional races right after Harley signed up for more years of sponsorship? What a coincidence that is. Open your eyes, and you will see. Mike.

For YEARS, i HAVE went to Baytown for the NHRA Races, due to the Motorcycles, have followed the events , each race keeping up with the bikes, BUT this year, I completley gave up on NHRA..They are soooo Fricken STUPID & bias, the rules are soooo lop sided giving the twinns ALL the advantages.. The Jap bikes ain't even on the same playing field..

The other teams need to boycott the next event. V&H sandbag most of the event and all of a sudden miraculously get a hold of the track and win. I believe they know they have the field covered so they can dial it back a bit and cruse to victory. look at the Buels doing everything they can to run with them and are on the edge with the motors every event. The HD's are playing with them. They have at least .15 to .25 to play with so they don't have to run them that hard. Must be nice to be in charge of the rules. And for V&H, shame on you for such a crock when talking about adding 20lbs. Remove 800cc's and then see how bad you are.

I say teams of the import bikes just leave the sport and let all these machine shop v-twin hybrids race each other.
....and let Harley Davidson fans stroke each other.

Harleys are 160 ci. that's over 2600 cc.
Let me find the other fact about how large the jap bikes can be.

Suzukis are limited to1600cc, so 2600cc vs 1600cc sounds fair right?

Don't forget the Jap motors still have to use Lectrons..
The same kind they found fossilized next to the footprints at Glen Rose..

Harleys are all aluminum engines, Suzukis can only have an aluminum crankcase

Susuki's also have to use stock cases. No custom CNC'ed jobbies like the Buells or Harleys. Hense the name ProStock.

There is something else about where you have to buy your engines, I don't remember what it was and can't find the info, do you know Teddy?

That article said it all. Susuki engines come from V&H. Buell engine's are S&S. Only Eddy and Andrew get the HD motors. All motors are suppose to be available to any team that wants to run them but HD is the exception.
