Another new 14R owner
Hey yall,bought my 14R last week,what a bike.
I'm coming from a ZZR12,C-14 and now this beast.Traded the C-14 in on it,still have the Zed12.
It's got me excited about riding again for sure.I'm still learning the bike and it's capability's.
Started messing with the suspension setting's some today,It's a treat to have fully adjustable stuff again.
I'm not a drag racer but do push the limits in the twisty's,ride lots of miles to reach them.
I got so tired of horsing that bigazz C-14 around the last 3 seasons, bought it to get the wife involved in riding but it didn't work out,she won't tolerate riding at 90 for hrs. on end,so,off it went.
Screwed up and stopped at the dealers....
I have replaced the stock cans with a set of Two Brothers Racing C/F slip-on's. Love the sound.
I do have alot of decell back talk though,it ain't bang/pop but lots of blub/blub/blub I'd guess you'd call it.
On my other bikes, closing off the Pair valves or plugging the hose in the air box took care of most of this.
Is it the same for the 14R? I looked in the manual and it shows a new to me EGR pump and all kinds of stuff I ain't grokked yet. Anybody have some info?
I read that the ECU re-flash cures this but I'm not looking for that last 5HP,I got all I need for a spell,LOL. What's the poboy cure for the decell popping?
Thanks for any help.

Thanks,I've been pipe dreaming a ZX-14 since about the 3rd week of buying the C-14,mistake for my style of riding. Great for 2-up riding,a pig at every thing else.
They offered me $6,500 for my C-14 on trade in,quick math,I can do this.
Insurance doubled even with me being what some would call old(54).
No regrets so far,I'm stoked on riding again.
Been jacking the Visa up the last few days,I'm a make it mine nut.
I got some TechSpec tank grips applied today, they're bound to help hang with this bike, dang.
Glad to be here, good informative site.

I have the same color bike with the same two brothers exhaust, They were plain to loud for me so I bought the inserts that quite them down 8db and now they are perfect. as far as the decel pop honestly use the brakes to stop and the enging to go. I use the front brake and the slipper hard coming into corners and my decel pop is not bad at all. If I just come up to a stop sign and use the engine to stop then it has some decel pop. but I'm not a engine brake type of rider so it don't bother me.

Db on the cans are perfect for me.I like'm loud.
I use the brakes and engine every time I ride, makes things Alot easier.
I practice "The Pace" when I ride, smooth, not run and gun.
At 7grand,playing in the apexes, the bike makes to much decell talk for me and Wheelie was kind enough to point me in the right direction.
Congratulations on the bike.

Thanks everybody, left air line plugged and went for a very short putt, much less decell muttering.
Plastics went back together fine once I figured out the trick, nice and tight,no broken tabs.
They really have improved some aspects at PapaKaw's. Checked the steering head fairing mount while I was in there, mine were tight.
Installed my ZG double bubble screen and some GP front pegs.
Fixing to gear up and really test the mods.
Thanks Again!

should be fun ... It is only a couple hundred miles for me. But that makes up for the 1000 mile trip to arkansas.
