You got that right. The only place I could find on the internet with OEM parts for the 2012 wanted about $660 for it. I did not see a listing for the 2012 on Ron Ayers or Bike Bandit. Anybody else find a good source for OEM parts?

My need to 'not spend millions' on rear tires was a deciding factor as well. That flashed ECU...that deal there just makes me want to faster and faster She's plenty torquey enough stock, with that Brock's thing and PCV.Buying tires was getting old quick...I know...same as gas mileage..."you didn't think it was gonna be cheap didja?"...well...no....but my riding 'style' has been adjusted.Straights...55,60,65...around there mostly.Curves...now that's where I get into it.But the interesting thing I've noticed about THIS bike...is at 55,60,65...around that...she is very enjoyable...cruising in 3rd or 4th....smooth as glass.Makes gettin with it in the turns that much more fun.....

Riding like that...I've been able to consistently pull down 50+mpg...that's on the real.5th gear...4K...somewhere in there.Temps stay right around 150.

I can't hardly pull 40 mpg while absolutely babying it around town. I wish I could pull that kind of mileage for commuting. Maybe on the open road, when she's better broken in. But probably not...

Ron Ayers:

MSRP: $831.24
Your Price: $721.52

Maybe I can set up a group buy and get a better deal???

About that mileage...that's on 'current' setting.I can consistantly get 50+ depending on what gears/rpms I'm pulling.I don't spend much time anymore looking at the 'average' setting.I'm normally in the 40+ to 50+ range on 'current'.If I'm getting 45mpg...for say....15 miles...that's doing pretty well.Do that for the majority of your ride(s)....you're getting good mileage...regardless of the 'avg' readings.

I check it via actual miles traveled and actual gas pumped. I"ve never even managed 40 mpg and that's babying it. Alas, what a nice bike. It's all good.

Try it on 'current' setting.Get into 5th...cruise at say...65 mph.See what ya get.6th gear won't give ya the best mileage....not at highway speeds.Current mileage tells ya what yer gettin 'right now'.

Average is adding your acellerations and all that...which naturally burns more.If you 'baby' this engine...it will not get as good a mileages as if you keep your R's up around 4K...at 5th....even in 4th...there's a few sweet spots...just have to find em.I found LOWER rpms for any given gear(below around 4k)...the mileage will drop.I haven't done any sustained 6th gear driving above 100mph....that's somewhere aroung 5k?maybe a shade less? But I'll try some higher (over 100)in 6th and see how she does.I suspect the mileage is gonna go up....It will definitely drop some in 6th if the rpms are too low. This is with a Brock's full system and PCV mapping from Brock.Stock ECU.

I had wondered that but figured w/this much torque, it would do better babying it for miles. I've been running my mileage/commuting runs under 4K. I'll run a tank at 4-5K average and see how that does.

Thanks.
