Nearly giving away my World Record Setting ZX-14! Hi guys,
I just launched a campaign on Kickstarter to finance a movie I'm going to make in Santa Cruz. I've just elected to put my ZX-14 on the site as a reward for a donation. Someone is going to get an outstanding bike for a very cheap price. I though someone on this site might be interested.
2006 ZX14. Only 2,800 church driven miles. Holds three World (FIM) and four (AMA) Land Speed records at Bonneville (in class). The bike's in excellent condition with custom paint, new tires, shaved head, ported, nitrous and all the goodies including three exhausts. You also get a copy of each of the seven records this bike has achieved. Great for the street and salts. I value it at around $20,000 because it is a historic bike. But for a donation of only $10,000 you can get it through Kickstarter providing I reach my goal, of course. This bike is my mistress. It will be sad to depart with her.
If you have any questions please let me know.
Thanks,
Bill

Your link doesn't work... I don't understand why anyone would pay so much for a 6 year old bike that has been beaten on when they can get a brand new 2010 leftover for less money.... Or kick up another $2500 and get a stock brand new bike that makes more power & has a lot more features. I used to buy an resell motorcycles and found out , "there is an ass for every seat " :-)

Hahaha i thought the same thing but didn't want to be the first to say something and be an asshole again. He shows off the dyno chart but the new bike puts out pretty much the same power with just the throwing on an exhaust.

You guys are new here, aren't you?
Flyboy's bike has quite a history - do a search ....................
You think Brock's 06 14 (beaten on a lot) would go for the book price?

Yes, the bike does have quite a history.... History or not, its a 2006 ZX14 for 10K... Guess I am missing something, not trying to provoke anyone, just stating an opinion that you obviously do not agree with. " Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one and some of them stink". No offense intended..

Might not be worth it right now but the green mustang that was in bullit was worthless on the 70 and 80s but i'st worth millons now .. 20 years from now if the bike is taken care of will be worth a ton of money ..Just look at the price of a clean CBX with NO history ..Or an H2 in great shape ... Anything old that is well kept or unrestored will bring large dollars , now add some history to that and bingo large large cash ...

I can understand buying a bike with history. That's one of the main reasons I bought the Hayabusa that I did. Did I pay more for it than other ones with similar mods and performance? Absolutely. Would I do the same thing again. You betcha. There is someone out there that will really want this ZX14 and will think $10K to be a bargain for it. That's just my thoughts on it of course.

Smokin and the rest of you vets- thanks for the support. It was six years ago when I first joined this site and only about five people in California owned a 14 much less seen one. I was a beginner and you guys on Bikeland taught me everything I know. I can't thank you guys enough-
Some memories-
Ah, the joys of Bonneville. One of the most beautiful places on the earth. The sunrises and sunsets reminded me of Hawaii-
My bike was 5 to 10 mph faster than the other 14's that eventually made it to Bonneville but I had some secrets-
I will never forget the day I was almost blown off the bike going 170 mph. In the open category all the wind hits you head on and there is no Busa seat to keep you on board-
Who can forget the excitement of taking your engine apart (twice) in the hot 96 degree desert heat of Bonneville and laying all your parts down on a tarp-
And having all four cylinders measured by hand. They don't do that at Speedweek-
And the joy of being asked to display your bike in 2007 at the world famous "Legends of the Motorcycle" weekend at the Rtiz Carlton at Half Moon Bay. Having your bike displayed next to antiques worth $1,000,000 each was a honor-
Yes the value of the bike is subjective but the good news is you get invited to my wrap party and get to meet all my stars. Plus you get listed on the big screen as a Producer-- Not too shabby. And at next party you attend, you'll be able to say you're a Producer and that, my good friends, will get you laid.
I noticed my post on how to post pictures at the top of the BIkeland forum has now gone over 109,000 views. Yeah, Smokin, Brock, some of the other guys and I have be around a few years--

Pictures and history of the bike are priceless to those who cherish the memories, and your pictures look great! Sounds like you have made some awesome memories that will last a lifetime, congratulations on that... Well done Sir. As Smokin suggested, maybe a Raffle might "net" you more than selling it outright. Good luck whatever you do.

Thanks Seno. I may consider it later but right now I have to meet a Kickstarter fund amount or my movie doesn't happen. It's an all or nothing proposition.
Yeah that bike has safely carried me over 180 mph about 18 times. It's my little angel--
Here's one of my many threads for you newer guys--

Just the other day I was reading the April issue of Motorcyclist magazine about the 1000cc Vincent Black Shadow that set the land speed record of 150 mph in 1948. I think it was sold for $ 1 million in 2010.
And what can be said of the first “superbike” to break the 100 mph mark, the 1937 Brough Superior SS100. T.E. Lawrence bike, the one he was riding when he died is rumored to have sold for $4 million.
That being said, who knows how much will your bike be worth 50 years from now. Thank you for sharing your memories Bill, awesome pictures. Best of luck with your movie.
