need help......NO TRACTION!!!

GUYS I purchased the bike second hand so I have no idea if the suspension settings were stock. Well I play every blue moon. The issue is I have no traction what so ever on the street. I have tried to launch it maybe 50 times total and no matter what I do out the hole it will spin. Even 2nd and third. It had original bridgestone tire. I have since put a usoft on with no luck. Changed pressures and no luck. Played with inner top bottom screws on shock to stiffen the back. No luck. Even put the rear spring tight as I could, my thought being it would put more pressure to the ground. No luck. I beleive the tires may be old but would they slide like I were hitting in the rain?

Need help guys

What's your wheelbase?
As far as shock settings, your going to need to soften it up if your having traction issues.
It could also be your technique, especially if your use to launching at the track. You can't launch the same, you have to launch much slower on the street.
Only other thing I can think of is race at the track and you won't have any worries.

need way more info on the bike. As already eluded to by Eklipse....making it stiff will only make it worse.

Need a spring that will be soft enough to keep you from rubbing any hard parts....then soften up compression and stiffen up rebound.

Your wheel base will also dictate just how hard you can hammer it on the street....long bikes on the street LOVE to spin.

She is stock motored with 6inch extensions. Yosh pipe, pc3, quick shifter, strapped, almost completed nos system. I have tried to launch softly, ride clutch, and just dump clutch. All senarios it spins. Ii can even roll out about 10-20yrds softly then wot qand she spins like its wet road. Even when I shift 2nd and 3rd its the same.....foot shifting or with quick shifter. I will try soft suspension setting. I have never had an issue like this before.
Eklipse I agree 95% on the track thing but I'm out in Tue country with a millions miles of empty road and I might actually race twice a year. Mostly joy riding but putting nos on to start hitting track more.

So for clarification, to soften compression. And rebound, I need to turn the flat groove screw on the top and bottom of the shock counter clockwise. Do I also need to adjust the bigger the bigger screw that surrounds the little screwed also?

Just went back out with rebound and compression 2.5 turns from full clockwise. Tire pressure was 20#, then 15, then 11#. Hooks better now but i still have to feather it a bunch on launch. a friend of mine launched his by dumping clutch at wot....he came out hard with about ten or so yards of that hooking type of spin and he is gone. I can't go full throttle for what I feel is too long a period of time. We both have u soft. I'm 110 lbs.

Does the hook-up tire work way netters than usoft?

110 pounds? Make a trip down to Arkansas I will give you some pointers and make you my super jockey. Lol at 110 pounds you need the suspension as soft as you can get it I would also check to make sure the previous owner didn't install a stiffer spring.

compression needs to be SOFT....rebound need to be HARD. Your sping needs to be as soft as possible to keep things from rubbing hard parts.

If you have BOTH of them 2.5 turns from full clockwise you have them BOTH hard. Back off the compression to allow the bike to transfer the weight and then let the rebound keep it there by slowly coming back up.

Maybe try a different tire? Even at SWB the 14's blow the tire away easily...

210 pounds and trying to use a stock shock is not going to cut it ... You need a drag shock set up for your bike and weight .. I know guys here are going to say send out your shock and get it revalved ... I say no !! Call Brock and get his EZ drag shock .. Trust me on this the EZ drag shock will get you more tunning adjustments than a revalved shock ever will .. If you street race you are going to need that adjustablity to hook on bad roads ..

Could be some warped steels as well. A grabby clutch will blow the tire off too.

I'll be the first to disagree with you. I'm 240 pounds and my bike has no issues hooking on the street all I do is adjust the tire pressure. Granted I took the time to dial my stock shock in at the track because I don't have the money to buy an aftermarket ( although I'd love to have one), my bike sit's at 63 1/2 inches and I run the hookup. Now my bike doesn't put down the times your does but it's a bone stock motor with a heavy rider it still 60's just as good as the majority of the guys up here that are in the 180-200 pound range.

Rider also has a HUGE impact on whether you can get it to 60' or not no matter what the set up.
