From when I found it for sale. Dave will get more pics up soon from his shop that we race out of. It's since been de-stickered except for the Kawasaki logo.

That looks exactly like badguy's turbo ZX14 .. even the number in windscreen is the same??

What a coincidence. That's who I bought the bike from. Wow.

He should have warranty that engine for a year...LOL

He gave me such a deal on it it's like he threw in 3 spare engines to boot. No matter what happend to the motor, I have no complaints whatsoever on this bike. I got the whole thing for what it was going to cost to put a turbo on my existing bike. Best deal and best guy to deal with ever. Period.

That's the nature of the beast, that's one of those things that you can't see coming. Had a buddy throw a rod threw his cases this weekend and it gave no hint that it was fixing to let go.

You guys will get it back together an flying in no time!!

while you have it torn down might aswell do the block mod to increase oil to the bearings. i think there are some pics of it floating around on the forrum.

I've certainly heard about this but does anyone know if this stops the #3 rod bearing failure that's so widespread in the zx engines dating back to 1984?

Terry Kizer "Mr Turbo" sold some type of oiling mod for ZX11 motors that was supposed to eliminate that problem

Thank you for this information. I was actually aware of this as I was having this done on my ZX11 in 1992 after it spun the #3 rod bearing when the shop it was in burned to the ground and took the "X-Man" with it. Kizer's was an oil pan modification if memory serves vs a block modification. No matter what, the motor in "Red" will have some modification done to try to prevent premature bearing failure. We're honestly just scratching the surface of the performance I want to get out of this bike and if it's failing now......welll you know what I'm getting at. Gotta figure out how to keep it together before making it fast. Wish me luck and any advice like this is certainly welcome. 1bad was able to keep this bike together for years without failure and he's got a pretty good idea why it did this on the first pass once we got it. Yes, we did something stupid in not changing the oil when we put in the new Hays clutch after destroying a stock one. Lots of clutch debris. No oil going where it should. Bonehead move? Yeah, I'll take the blame for this one as I was desperate to get the bike going and to the track. Won't happen again.
