Damn guys i just got home and it 3:00 am .. long long nite !!!!

Ricky first two runs he had NO boost .. Chris got him very low boost for the very last past of the nite at 1.30 am .. First and only shake down run at low boost 8.28 @ 171 .. It's going to fly when they turn up the boost .. The bike is at 65 inch wheel base ..On this one and only boosted pass Ricky by mistake hit the flasher button and not the shifter button and slamed into the rev limiter at the 1000 foot mark .. He did hit the shift button after he the flasher button but it cost him some ET and MPH .. We watched the pass and said why did he turn on the flashers at half track ... LOL ..

Had great time even if it was at 87+ deg and 81 % humidty after the sun went down .. As far as how my bike ran , well lets just just say i have had better nights.. Air shifter did not work on 4 of my passes .. What really sucked was i had two 1.30 60 footers and it missed 2 gear on both passes .. Best i could muster was two passes in the mid 8.50s spining mid track. They had just scraped the hole track that day and had removed all the rubber .. Well i guess should not bitch about running two run 8.50s on a shitty track with a DA ranging from 1800 to 2000 feet when it took a killer pass and good air to get my 2009 ZX14 to run a 8.76 ..

It was really nice to meet Ricky and to see Chris Jones again .. Chris did a really nice job on this turbo job , once they get the bugs and tunning fixed it's going to be beast !

Guess i better toss in a picture of my bike for the hell of it .. Damn i guess i better learn how to use my focus on my camera ..

Nice pics Lee You look like you belong on Ricky's bike......like you should be making some runs yourself.....I'd LOVE to see that
And I knew the 14R was going to respond extremely well to boost. The gen1's loved boost as well.

That's pretty cool. Too bad he didn't take a pass on your bike. It would've been interesting to see if a pro could stand up to your numbers.

Smoking', thanks for the post and pics. Although you didn't have a great night at the track, I always reading your posts about your experiences and challenges.
I hope to get the chance to meet you one day if ever you are in S.E. Florida and possibly learn a thing or two.

Im guessing VE and long stroke with more BDC dwell =better cylinder filling, and creating such vast increase power for the displacement change

1bad you had to be there and then would would not sound like a tool .. The bike had 3 miles on the bike and that was on the Dyno .. Jones had not finshed the bike , He just tossed it together because Ricky was on his way to the FL Keys to meet with his family and wanted to make a pass on the bike....First two passes it had no boost at all .. Chris spent from 9:00PM to 1:30AM at the track just to get a the bike to make a little boost on the last pass .. The bike only ran on a 3 and 1/2 pound spring.. 3/4 of the way down the track he missed the shift button and run it into the limiter , so it wasn't even a full pass with only a bit of boost... It was nowhere near making 320 HP like it did on the dyno ..1bad i guess on your very first pass ever your turbo zx14 ran 8.20s @ 171 .. 1bad you should know better than anyone what it takes to set up a brand new turbo bike .. But you would rather bash the ZX14R , Ricky and Chris Jones..

I'm sure Chris Jones son got a the video of the last pass .. It will show up on Rickys face book page or youtube soon .. I saw a play back of it before i left but didn't have my glasses on but from what i saw it looked pretty good .. You could see where Ricky hit the flasher button and not the air shifter button just after the 1/8 mile ..

Its a damn shame we can't interview the Kawi engineers and get their thoughts on power enhancements versus longevity. Compressors appear to be the most economical when viewed from HP/$ but I won't even consider it if the trade off is a 50,000 mile Max life expectancy. I'm referring to a street application of course... not 50K worth of .25 mile WOT runs.

I used to worry about stuff like this too, until I really started to think about it. I don't keep a bike much more than 3 years or 15K miles max. So basically you should ask yourself "How many bikes have I actually kept for 50,000 miles?"

who's the tool excuse me . .i' didn't come out and say 320hp @7lbs of boost ..

i would think it would been better to produce HP numbers after a run than before a run ..

2TENTH AND 8 MPH for 100hp based off yours and rickey's stock motor zx14r's runs .. thats about what i got off mine on its 1st pass too

and why is it anytime someone ask a question of why something didn't work to prediction is always called bashing ..
