Chris Jones just finshed Ricky Gadsons turbo ZX14R
Get this 320 HP at only 7 pounds of boost !!!!!!!!!! Guess the new ZX14R loves boost ...I may get a chance to see it run shortly....  Full story and a picture of the bike on Rickys face book page ..

Wow, this is great news. Everything about this 14r makes my old school versions seem tame by comparison. I can't wait to see what kind of numbers he can get out of it at such a mild boost setting.

That sounds miss leading. He also has some engine work done on that bike also right?? You say it like it only has 7lbs boost to get to 320hp,but there is engine work involved to i thought??

Motor is built. And I don't see how a gen2 14 could be making any more power tha. A built turboed gen1.

Also, the cylinder head porting should help some as well. I am thinking more power, with less psi.

True to a point but we are talking about a difference of what 89cc. And about 60hp between the two boost for boost. Maybe the head or the bigger cams really love the boost ether way that's a good gain of power over a built motor gen1 with the same boost!

True to a point but we are talking about a difference of what 89cc. And about 60hp between the two boost for boost. Maybe the head or the bigger cams really love the boost ether way that's a good gain of power over a built motor gen1 with the same boost!
The new bike may make a little more with boost I'm sure, but maybe it's the "Chris Jones" factor and this particular set up that makes the difference from the Adams gen 1 PST bike(which I think he is comparing it to)??

there is only an 89cc difference from gen 1 to gen 2. just figured i would point that out.

Its a damn shame we can't interview the Kawi engineers and get their thoughts on power enhancements versus longevity. Compressors appear to be the most economical when viewed from HP/$ but I won't even consider it if the trade off is a 50,000 mile Max life expectancy. I'm referring to a street application of course... not 50K worth of .25 mile WOT runs.

I'll be riding my bike .. Don't think Ricky will let me ride his brand new ride ...I may have Ricky make a pass on my bike .. I'm bringing my camera and video cam .. Don't know for sure that he will be there , but he did tell me last night that was his plan... If he makes some shake down runs i will try to get it on video...
I have never met Ricky but i do know Chris Jones . Ricky might just bitch slap me and move on !

I rubbed my nutsak all over that bike when i picked my 300+ hp 15 psi zx14 from Chris on july the third.

No It's not misleading at all. Very likely numbers. My turbo 12 makes 312 @ 10 psi.

A bit of headwork helps, mainly on exhaust side. Can't use cams with a bunch of duration though, as it goes right out the pipe.

I can believe it ,my stock internal 06' makes 252 on 5psi. Can't wait to see some timeslips from Rickys bike.
