Gearchart says 196 mph @ 11k in 6th, 176 mph in 5th.

What gear are you in at the traps???
What mph are you running?

X2. Holy Crap. How fast ARE you running????? I know stock rev limiter is at an actual 10,600 but still. How fast are you trapping? Something seems amiss here.

6th gear @ 170mph hitting the rev limiter. Going to put 17t back on the front and see what happens but I don't think I will see a 196 mph though we will see Friday.

Actual rev limiter is about 11,030 or some silly number like that.
Tach will be reading high at about 11,300

It is possible to run a 10.8 or 10.9 chip in the autoshifter without hitting the limiter.

Best with 17/41 i was stuck in the 180-185 range. I went 190s with 17/39 in 6th gear which is what I ended up sticking with.

Now I wonder about my sanity. A couple of years ago, some guys I know we're doing top end runs with a gps, .9 mile stretch of road. I hit 169.2 on the gps with 16/41 gearing. I thought maybe I never made it to 6th gear.

Gearing commander is in correct. If you are running a shinko, which is alot shorter, then aired down at 18-20 psi shrinks the hight even more. I run 17-47 and It rev limited 5th(auto shifter chip pulled) at 155mph before the traps in 5th gear and I had 28 psi at the time. Not sure if that's anywhere close to gearing commanders specs..

Yes.

That is using Brock's Gearchart for a quick calculation.

I'm not saying the numbers are absolute as it does not take into account a shorter tire. However, at speeds near 200 mph, I would think there would even be some tire GROWTH.

The numbers are not absolute, but they are not off by 26 mph.

Tire spin and / or clutch slippage are likely to be causing the large inconsistancy between calculated and actual speeds.

Remember that the stock gearing of 41/17 on the 14 is good for over 200 mph (theoretical) and we are only talking a difference of 1 tooth.

Calculating only on the difference in 5th gear and 6th gear ratios (tire size is whatever it is to run 155 mph in 5th), you would be good for about 172 mph in 6th.

That would be almost the same gearing as 16-44.
