Dynotune NOS Install

I have been toying around with the idea of NOS for some time. Finally took the plunge and wanted to test out the Dynotune NOS ZX14 dual bottle kit. The kit comes with everything you need to do the install from start to finish, the one pictured has the upgraded 20oz bottles (they hold 1.5lbs each). One of the things I would have liked to be upgraded was the steel lines, they should be plastic covered to avoid acting like steel wool on any body panels/ metal parts it comes in contact with. The switch that the kit comes with is a toggle, I went to the local speed shop and got a rubber boot to protect it from the elements. The bottles do not have a control valve on them, but the brackets they screw into do ( when getting bottles filled you need to bring an adapter). As far as wiring it goes, there were several options... I chose the horn button due to the fact I do not use a clutch when shifting, only launching. The kit gives you 3 jets, 15,30,40 HP, for the test I tried 30 then went to 40.. After it was all installed and tested, I had a big smile on my face... 2nd-4th WOT will lift the front. Good stuff! Below are a few pics. Dyno charts to follow in a week or 2 when I have time to get to it.

Went to the local auto shop and got 3" reflectors to "camouflage" the bottles from behind... I did a shit ass job with the safety wire but had like 4 feet and no tool... Have to re-do the wire.

Get a nitrous pressure gauge if you don't already have one.

When using nitrous, staying on top of your tune means everything.

Good luck,

Why is the pressure gauge soo important to the tune. If pressure is low....won't it just be a richer mixture? I'm new to nos too. Hooking up a Adams bar with a 50 shot and a rpm switch in case I miss a shift. Actually going to go down to a 30 shot since I don't have heavy duty springs.

yes but at the same time if your bottle heats up and pressure goes up your tune becomes lean.

As the temp. goes up, so does the bottle pressure. This can very easily cause your bike to run lean and hurt your motor. As little as 10 degrees can change your nitrous pressure by 100 psi. This change in temp can come from many sources, the road, your motor, direct sunlight, time of day, exhaust, etc.
If the pressure is too low, a rich condition will foul your sprak plugs.

Great advice... I installed the gauges and found out the fucktards over filled my bottles to the point that with the heat the solenoid will not release... Had to manually purge some out, they were pinned at 1600PSI.... Thank you again, great advice!

Watch the brackets that hold the bottles. With the bigger bottles they tend to crack and
eventually break.

You are welcome,
Most guys that I see using nitrous hurt their motors within 3 months.

I have been spraying my bike for over two years with a nice size shot 3-6 times a week year round.

I have never hurt my motor. My motor has never been off my bike for any reason.(14,xxx miles of hard racing!).

The key is to stay on top of you tune. You need to get a data logger and only spray your bike for a good reason.

My reasons are to fine tune my set-up and to win money. Thats it!

I know there is a day coming that I will need a motor. Nothing last forever.

Enjoy it while you can.

I have run NOS since 2007 on my Bike. 50 shot I might add. 2 - 20 oz bottles.
5 years old and still strong.
I hit the button when ever I can.
Frequent Flyer.
If your worried about loosing the bike don't take it out of the garage.

Compression still up on every cyl.
Freq oil changes and reg service.

BROCK put me onto an additive... Petron...
Brock your customer service is GREAT!
I ilke it... Royal Purple racing oil 10w40 amazing shit... Expensive... 20.00 a quart here...

I have used all kinds of synthetic oil in the past and never have I seen oil like the oil I am using now.
No oil remains in the oil container. If you do your own oil changes you know what I mean. Always oil left in the bottom of the quart. You can never get it out...
Not with royal purple boys...
Slippery as whale shit on ice...

With the 2 combined it is a winning combination.

All I am trying to say is ride it. Watch your air ratio sensor and let her dangle...
Anyone remember what the correct air ratio is? lol

Dont you fill your own?

Dont trust anyone to fill the tanks...

Get a vac pump and suck the tanks dry." removes contaminates"
Then chill the bottles.
Cold bottles attract the Nos out of the cyl your filling from.
Get a digital scale "Fishing scale fine" and hook up your hoses...

Adapt a ball valve onto your hose to the bottle so you can shut off the flow of NOS promptly and not over fill your bottles.

If you really want to get fancy. Run Medical Grade NOS... Clean... Expensive...

Seno IMO if anything those gigantic reflectors draw attention to the bottles. I think the black bottles would blend in better w/out those huge reflectors. just my :twocents

"If your worried about loosing the bike don't take it out of the garage."

I don't agree.
IMO,that attitude will have you on ebay looking for a motor sooner than you need to.

Motor wise, only bolt ons.... Brock's CT & ECU reflash with custom map. have a PCV with Map 1 zero'd out, and map 2 (nos) dumping 21% more fuel.... Having it tuned and mapped next week, once I get a spraybar.

I refilled my bottles last week, had the owner of the local race shop do it..... Told him his retard put way too much in to the point my solenoid woukd not open....had to purge bottles down to a lower level manually.

I'm not worried about losing my bike, I take it out and enjoy it as often as time allows.... My local dealer is a friend and I asked him if he will warranty my motor if I put nos on it... Yes, he will so I really don't give a shit if I blow it, not that I want to but I do have a 4 year extended warranty on it.... If it get stolen, I have insurance & receipts for everything added onto it.

Regarding the reflectors, from the back you can't tell they are bottles, thanks for your input but I will be keeping them.

Thanks for the pics Seno. Bikes looking real nice.
I have had the same Dynotune kit (but with a single bottle setup) lying around for a while and never got round to fitting it.
Where did you install the foggers? In the ram air tubes?
The one thing I can't figure out is where to fit the jet!

Thank you. The jet goes in the solenoid out and gets sandwiched in by the fitting that shoots out NOS.As far as the foggers, I drilled and tapped the air box covers as shown in the installation instructions. After doing some research I am in the middle of sorting out a spray bar , I'll take pics and post.

Thanls for that.
I bought an unfitted kit from a board member a while ago but it had no instructions.
I'm still not sure if I'll get to fit it but, if I do, at least I've picked up a few hints from you and the guys comments.

If you PM me your email, I will scan & send you a copy. Dynotune has instructions on their site but they are generic.
