It doesn't work because dynojet makes their crap incompatible with each other........its called planned obsolescence......they purposely don't want to waste time helping folks with problems because its more profitable for them to sell you new stuff instead. They get nothing by helping you with your current stuff. And they can care less how easy their stuff is to use as long as folks are buying it. Since they're the Kings of the dyno and pc equipment market, they don't have to try as hard to work with people.

Thats what happens when one company gets to big in a market.......they start shitting on their customers.
People need to quit buying their crap and take them down a notch or 10............then you'd see a change in the company.
All I'll ever buy from them is strictly a pc.......NOTHING else. And if I can use ecu edit I won't even do that.
They suck major ass.

I know our phone system pretty much sucks right now. We hired a couple new guys but unfortunately they did not work out and we just got another new guy in and will be looking for another one. My techs are flat out on the phones all day and it seems we do more Windows tech support than our own products! Anyways, email works good and we normally respond within 24hrs. tech@powercommander.com or sales@powercommander.com, and of course you are free to send me an email direct. Thanks for the support guys.

Like I said previously... Get Dusty on the phone.... He will get you straightened out. It's good to see that he actually read this thread and can understand how many people are feeling about his company. When I had my issue, he did get it straight for me.... It's unfortunate that his customer service employees really know how to rub me the wrong way and basically tell me tough shit go buy a 3rd Quickshifter. Frankly, if I had to pay for the plastic shifter they sent me I would have sent it back.... Your customer service is killing your companies image, which is probably costing you $$$$$$ in repeat business. I appreciate you helping me out and thanks again, but frankly when I bought a quickshifter for my new bike I did not even consider a Dynojet product from past experience.

I agree, Dusty is awesome...but one guy can't keep everybody happy. The techs I've dealt with don't seem to know jack about their own products, and don't seem to want to work at all to help. They just say upgrade upgrade.......give us more money

And whats up with no backward compatability???? If you buy a product from dj and run it on your bike for a couple years, then want to add some other stuff to the system, suddenly the new stuff doesn't want to work with your couple year old pc? wtf???? So you're told buy new stuff? Thats bs tactics and a complete crock..........make the stuff backward compatible and plug and play, not fight and pray to get it to work, and think of the customer, or don't make it at all

Bad in Black - can you elaborate on what you were told is NOT backwards compatible. If we are still on the same subject of the HUB then I don' understand. The PCV has all but the outputs from the HUB already baked into it, at the same price so if anything we are supplying a Powercommander with all the features of the HUB but not charging for the HUB. Of course some things are not compatible from a PCIII to a PCV as they are a totally different beast.

As far as the linear shifter being plastic now it actually costs us more for this newer one than the older one and yet we kept it the same price. There is almost no strain the body of the sensoe so the metal was overkill. We upped the seals on the new one as some guys had issues with debris getting inside and we made a breather tube for more consistency.

I answer emails pretty much 24/7 and on weekends so if you guys have issues hit me up.

Dont want to hijack but have a question. Will the hub work with the pcv so you can utilize outputs??

I love their P/Cs ... I had a dyno jet 200i dyno i got used ... Had a problem with the 02 sensor reading ( no reading at all ) Sent the stack to them and asked them to fix it , they did and it worked for a short time and had to send it back .. They kept telling me it was a bad battery .. really you just put a new one in it ... Next was the 02 sensor went bad ,Again Not their falt , i got the unit used and got what i paid for .. So i asked them could they sell me a new 02 sensor , they said sure right after you pay use a 500.00 fee because i didn't buy the dyno from them .. Screw that i went to the auto parts store and got the same 02 sensor for half of what they wanted .. Then the master cylinder went bad on the brake ... Again it's not there falt because i got the unit used .. Again they want 500.00 bucks before they sell me a master ... Screw that because auto zone had the same one off a 63 chevy for 19.00 bucks ..
Everytime i called i was treated as an asshole ... Look dyno jet i know i didn't buy this dyno from you new but why can't you sell me the parts to repair it , hell it's money in your pocket if you do .. Charging me 500.00 bucks just so i can buy your over priced parts is just stupid ..
I will still buy your P/C when i need one but that is it !!! ..

$500 because you didn't buy it from them? WOW, that just sucks... I can see charging a "tech support" fee per incident, but $500 registration fee is kinda fucked up especially in this economy... Talk about adding insult to injury.

SmokinZX14 –

We understand your frustration with the $500 transfer of ownership. Since this policy was implemented several years ago, you are not the first to express your distaste for it. The “transfer of ownership” was devised at a time when a lot of dynos were changing hands in the used marketplace, and we were seeing a large resurgence of “new dyno owner” questions. Basically, all of these dynos that go to new owners then spark all the new dyno owner teething pain questions all over again. This equates to a jump in our call volume on the 800 tech line. There is also a back-end impact for us as we have to create a new account, edit the dyno owners list, etc, etc on our end…all labor and time our technicians and accounting department has to do.

The $500 change of ownership for a dynamometer does get you:

1. An account in our ordering and service/repair systems,
2. The old owner removed and your shop added to the dyno owner list on our website,
3. A current version of software specific to your machine and a banner shipped to you,
4. Access to a private message board only for Dynojet dynamometer owners, and
5. 800 Toll free technical support access for as long as you own the machine.

We believe that the features and benefits that we offer when setting up your transfer of ownership will certainly outweigh the cost. Just the software upgrade alone is normally $250, which is included. A listed on the dyno owners list from our website will also drive traffic to you that you may not see otherwise.

Seems like a fair value, but you should still be willing to sell parts and software separately to those that wish to simply buy them as well as offer a per incident rate for telephone/email tech support. Opens the door for the up-sell.

My 2 cents.

I would like to comment on Dyno Jet. No issues. Always good service.
I flew from Canada to Las Vegas and dropped in to buy a few toys direct...
Pretty helpful. Then went our to see Carol Shelby "museum"

I guess anyone can drop the ball.
Dyno Jet - Pick it back up please.
