In the thread on the "other" board, Ivan says: "The power limiter has been defeated in the lower 3 gears... all done inside the ECU."

I interpret that to be that he is opening the secondaries, as he advises to leave them in, and that is not what we are looking for.

Ivan appears to be selling Guhl's services. If so, why doesn't Guhl and Brock already offer this magic fix = unleashing ALL the power in the first 3 gears, even with the secondaries out???

Does Ivan really know more than Guhl or Brock? Don't know, as he refuses to post anything specific about "his" flash.

so is Ivan playing off of Brocks hand? Brock posting the lower hp in 1-3 gears having nothing to do with secondaries. Now Ivans says unrestricted? Does Ivan mean secondaries? Better wait till Daddy post up lol

Who is "we" I for one want my flies to remain in, as I expect alot of guys do. not everyone is sitting at 67 inches plus. Still not saying Ivans flas is the way to go. I will wait and just send my ecu in this dec. when it's all figured out better.

Bently, I think Lucky is talking about what Brock has found out, nothing to do with secondaries opening quicker.

Ivan also says "As far as timing goes, there is only one timing table.... different sensors or modes selected will change the offset of the table...."

I see only 3 options for Kawasaki to limit power in the first 3 gears (assuming FULL power mode selected):

1. Pull timing. This should be pretty easy to investigate, and is the most likely candidate.
2. Adjust fuel: REALLY? Going to create a very lean condition at WOT? Probably not. Add fuel to create a very rich condition? Again, probably not.
3. Secondaries. If they're out, then no reduction in power in the first 3 gears, so there is nothing else to derestrict - we already have full power.

Anyone see any other way(s)???

My money is up for grabs as soon as I believe that the engine is COMPLETELY unrestricted by flashing the ECU.

Wow! Love all the info pouring in on this thread now! Keep it coming!

Just my 2 cents, but if you have everything from Brock and each probably has their own flash... Why not use Brock's?

Yep, I still have the PC V, Street Smart full system, & lowering links. Since getting my 14R, and riding it around for a while, I absolutely love the quiet power.
My '08 dynoed at 178 rwhp, un flashed, Brock's street map w/flies in, Brocks Street Smart exhaust My '12 dynoed at 183 rwhp. Bone stock!
The issue here is yes, I could install my Street Smart system on the '12 but realistically, I'm kinda wanting something even quieter.
I'm a long distance rider, not a 1/4 mile person. Although I do wear ear plugs, I don't feel the need to let people a mile away know I'm coming.
Just sold my loudest bike ever. MV Agusta 1078RR, it had a full race Arrow exhaust, it was LOUD!
Yes, it was only a weekend toy!

Edit: Just wanted to add, I have nothing against Brock's! Great service, excellent product's!
Not dissing him what so ever. I'm getting old I guess, I want quiet and 220 rwhp!

'09 MV Agusta Brutale 1078RR. Arrow full exhaust, Race ECU.
'12 ZX-14R Guhl flashed.

Help me understand, Wasn't this been done before. See Don's feature - safety feature is disabled. quote from a previous thead

"Just re-installed the revised flashed ECM yesterday with fuel map, KTRC stays off & the flies safety feature is diabled. This is all new in addition to all the other restrictions that have been disabled in the original flash release. Bike runs totally different . No more add ons ie PC,ect. I'll just be glad when we can tune through a handheld like "Diablo Tune" so I can stop shipping my ECU back & forth, everytime there's a revision of the tune."

Do a search " ECU reflash by Don Guhl" and get all the info you will need. Talked to Don last night and he confirmed that he is working with Ivan on the reflash and that Ivan has a custom ignition map he uses. So Don is the gent that is still doing major work on the ECU. As far as I understand the new flash disables the safety future even if the secondarys is still in place. Speak to Don Guhl and he will explain in more detail.
