No spring and bolted tight so theres no movement

Well atleast I always run a spring up top so there's play, and I would also put the sol. right on the ram works much better. anything else Wee?

NAILED IT.. I don't use a spring but leave space in it, and my solenoid is mounted on the ram..

Not necessary but I use nos braided line. Would add more bling to yo thing Clifford...

Thanks for the feed-back, however following our analysis of the system during installation, we made milling changes to 'better align' the upper ram (it's much closer to the motor now) for the smoothest action. Lots of movement off the brass washer. Note the black plug in the upper ram air hole - it's drilled to the necessary release size and cleans things up a bit.. We also run a bolt right thru the shifter arm to keep it simple.....regarding the spring, why?

I thought about a braided line but actually like the flexibility and the look of the 1/4 black plastic for this application.

If you have movement up top you may be okay but with a spring in there it can move back and fourth quit a bit. I don't use braided line but would for sure have the sol. mounted to the ram most guys who use a airshifter do this for a real good reason. I never had a reason to do any milling up top and all three of my 14s worked great.
