2012 100 mile report!

Well the bike turned 100 miles tonight. The bike has tons of power and torque. I had my 07 geared 17/40 so I am not used to the front tire lofting in second gear which the 2012 does easily. I am not sure about the Metzler's, they feel a little more squirrley than the Pilot Road II's. The stock seat seems to be slanted alot more forward than my Sargent was which to me seems to put more pressure on the hands/wrists on the clip-ons. I did install a set of heli-bars risers tonight which seemed to make it a little better. I also miss the feeling on the Sato rearsets. Although they were only 1/2 lower than the stockers they felt much more solid and roomy than the floppy stock pegs and I miss the precision shifting. I think my first mods will be GPR stabilizer and Sato's. Also seems to get better fuel mileage than the 07 also. It also seems like the ram air is moving alot more air than the 07 and it sounds like it wants to suck the tank in when you twist the throttle. What an awesome machine.

the stock tires are slippery. im always sliding. Then again i go to number 5 ( edge of the tire) when turning. And thats with them warmed up. im trying to decide which tires to get next.

Up over 200 miles on mine, as of yesterday. It's totally stock for now apart from the pillion seat cover and it's very comfortable. I was cruising at 80mph and noticed the fuel consumption was 53mpg on a constant throttle. Mine is fitted with the new Bridgestone S20, I haven't pushed them yet but they feel very neutral in corners and I have every confidence that they will grip.

It's Bike Night tonight on Plymouth Hoe, hoping for a good turn out of at least 500 bikers and a chance to catch up with lots of people I haven't seen for a while.
