No bluetooth for me, last thing I want to do is talk to someone when I am on my bike. I do run the ipod on long trips though

I use the scala which I find to be one of the best. I haven't done bike to bike , but friends used it @ tail of the dragon and the helmet cam video actually picked up the audio. I use it for gps and phone mainly with the idea that music would be used for longer trips. It works best under 80-90 mph. On phone the other party doesn't even know you're on a bike but at higher speeds the wind make it more difficult to hear, but do we really need to be talking at high speed? Lol.
Each helmet is different due to wind noise and setup location of ear speakers is important. I had the Zumo for GPS but it was stolen so I use a phone app GPS which I really like. The battery life on the Scala is fantastic as I'm more concerned about running my phone down before the Scala quits. If you are in a populated area it will also pick up FM radio. I hope this helps.

+1 Scala Teamset, I had the Scala Rider previously. It's not a "cheap" unit but have been using this brand for about 5+ years and their customer service is excellent. Intercom works very well, it's nice when I rarely have a passenger to tell them to hold on or else they are going to be left at the light! The radio feature has quite a bit to be desired, due to only 5 presets and lack of numerical tuning ability... Regarding the phone, many times I tell people I am on the bike currently and they can't believe it.

I have the Sena SMH10 the speakers fit nicely into my Shoei rf1100. The sound quality isn't bad if you're not winding out gears on a loud bike. I haven't used the intercom yet, but the phone is outstanding people can't believe I'm on a bike until I rev it up a bit. It pairs easily with my iPhone 4s over and over without any difficulty. The controls are simple to understand and easy to operate even with thick gloves. Mounting was a simple 20 minutes the first time around. I bet I could do it in 5 now. Overall very pleased.

I to use the scala rider and +1 on those. Pricey, and the radio sucks but customer service all the way!
