Broke my own record today .. 8.50@ 161

I didn't get the air i was praying to get .. But it still worked out ok ..

Density Altitude: 1401 feet
Relative Density: 95.96 %
Winds 5 to 10 MPH from the west , Was hoping for a north wind so i would have a tail wind but what i got was more of a side wind ... Well at least it wasn't a head wind like the last few time to the track ..

I was hoping for something in the 800 to 900 foot range but it was just to darn hot .. My first runs were the best .. From 6:00 to 6:30 I got in 4 or 5 runs .. Temp 84 Deg and 31% humidity ..As soon as the sun started to drop and air cool off some the track started to go way .. TOO many front wheel drive cars and trucks ripping up the starting line .. I just could not hook the bike ... For some damn reason they ran the street cars then the bikes .. Most nights we run right after the slick tire cars and we can hook the bikes .. But not tonight , them damn front wheel drive slow turds screwed up the track .. I have never seen more dirt on a track ..

Anyway i was able to ride ok even if my gut was killing me .. My abdominal muscles where they cut me in the hospital were screaming when i left the starting line ..But it didn't stop me from trying ..

My first few passes were pretty easy just to see if i could handle riding the bike .. Each run i pushed it a little harder .. With Brocks street map and PCV i had i little problem keeping the front end down in first gear so i backed off the stagging RPMs from 5500 to 4500 and that helped with the wheelies ..The bike was running great.. Below are the tickets , I think i have them in order .. My last run before the track went away i had a 1.31 60 footer and i was sure i was on a 8.40 pass but my air shifter missed 3 gear .. SUCKS !!! .. I'm still happy i was able to lower my record and set the bar just a bit higher ... If someone wants my record they are going to have to work a little harder to take it away now

The first two tickets i was fighting wheelys .. The other ticket i dropped my staging RPMs and kept the tire on the ground .. I'm waiting for a friend to send me the 8.50 pass video .. As soon as i get it i will post it up ..

nice runs...does bike feel any different on track with few changes recently? i bet it would have been in 8.4's if it was cooler.

Lee, maybe your tire broke loose on the 2-3 shift. I have had that happen to me on occasion.
It seems that when the track starts to cool it cools from the finish line to the start line.

Anyhow, great times and watch out for Tayron!! :-)

Later...

That is very possible ..Seems the only time the air shifter messes up is when it spins ..

Yes the PC and map helped for sure .. My MPH of 161+ is repeating over and over even on a poor run... It's making more power now but i need to find out how it use it .. When i got home tonight my drag shock was setting by my door .. Maybe the drag shock will help me controll the power better .. I wish i had it on the bike for today .. But you know UPS , always late ...

Lee,

Did you make any changes to the Map, and do you have any tools to monitor the A/F?

NO map changes .. No time .. I only got a few runs in to get a base line and the track went away .. Had it kept hooking i would have tried some fuel changes ...

Great job!!!

You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

Lee,

NICE WORK and Fantastic Riding!!

Thanks for proving our mapping process here in Ohio (860 ft actual altitude/ 1200-1500 corrected density altitude during the mapping process for the street map) can work great down there in Florida (:

You will go lower than 40's I think...

Lee:

Congrats and once again, your skills speak for themselves. With your methodical approach and consistency, once you get that drag shock dialed in all you'll need a bit of luck with the weather and you will get that really..low number.

Keep showing the rest of us how it's done.

Yeah I think he has some 8.30's in it with additional tuning, taking a lil bit of weight off of the bike and adding BST's and good weather !!!!
