PCV installed along with Brocks street map ..
I had installed the PCV and Street map from Brocks a few days ago and had not had a chance to test ride the bike to see how it feels .. I wanted to test it on the street before i hit the track Thursday Night just to make sure i didn't screw anything up ..It really sucks to drive to that track and find out you have a problem that you can't fix at the track .. So i took the bike for a short ride and i'm glad to report everything is working as it should .. The bike did seem to run smoother than before , i always find that to be the case with good mapping .. As good as the ZX14R aready is with the factory mapping custom mapping always seems to make it feel even better .. We will see how it works at the track Thursday night ..

Hey Smokin
Glad to hear that Brocks PCV feels better than stock mine arrives tomorrow and now I cant wait to install it with my CT Duals. Good Luck on the track tomorrow!!!

Thanks .. Keep your fingers crossed for that 8.40s pass ...

80s for thursday but a cold front if you want to call it that came in tonight .. It will be 80s but lower humidity .. 70s when the sun goes down but the humidity may go up as the sun goes down ..DA looks to be in the 900+ zone .. Not great but not that bad for FL ..

Smokin, With the flys out and the Brocks street map how does the low end grunt feel over what is was stock?

Ya...went with the single on mine....PCV also...street map with Guhl flash.Flies in but flashed to open sooner...Steve said for the street,leave em in.Good Luck Smokin...win baby,win!Gonna go out right now and start the disassembly process....probably gonna be rainin like crazy here tomorrow...so,gonna get a jump on Friday's new arrival(s)!

Steve told me the same. Out of interest, did you notice any difference after the Guhl flash w/the PC-V on the street? I'm trying to decide the flash is worth it, in addition to the PC.

You know...I did.The low end,very low end did have more pull quicker.The stock ECU had a tad smidgen of 'bogginess' to it until it began to raise to about 2100 or so(in 1st).The Guhl 'almost' got rid of it....not near as noticeable now.She 'seemed' to want to loft easier as well....and the TC also seems to have been slightly affected on the Low End lofting...meaning...at times...it doesn't feel like it's gonna kick in(to stop the lift).But I think it really IS still working just fine...may just be HOW I'm doing the power on.If I go really abrupt,she'll lift very fast,and I have to let up a tad.If I power up smoother,it will indeed lift,but the TC will stop it from going higher.Maybe they all do that anyway?...to Clarify here...I haven't gotten my pipe yet,or my PCV...this was with stock pipe(s) and Guhl flash.I'll know Friday...after the install. She's very very smooth right now...and if Smokin says she's even smoother...this is gonna be one hell of a ride!Can hardly wait!!!She's all prepped and ready for install(s).
Gonna be fun to see how much weight came off with this deal here.

Can't say becuase i have had my flies out for some time .. So the ECU reflash doesn't open my flies faster because i don't have them .. But the extra 500 rev limiter and top speed limiter works .. I can't say with the little test i did on the street if the mapping made more low end grunt , i just don't have a place around here to flog it without ending up in jail .. All i can say is it feels smoother with the mapping .. I'll have much more info after tonights test and tune ...

Why would you do an ECU reflash AND a PC? I have reflashed ECU's and I've used fuel managers but never considered both. Has to be a reason and something I'm missing.

I'm considering the flash w/the PC because of the TRE option mainly. I'll rarely see top-end on the street, but I do love tons of smooth(er) torque. I'm not sure how the two will work together, or IF they'll work together. That's what I'm after now.

Just added the PC w/Brock's map to my CT Smeg; very nice. It runs much smoother, pulls cleaner and crisper, and builds revs significantly faster. Very pleased. Now to finish up the mods...once they come up w/the right package for me.

Looking like rain again here in Dallas, after I installed the pcv and Brocks street map I thought my 14r revved quicker, maybe it's just me but it looked like it did, I haven't ridden it yet, but I put it in gear and revved like I launch and it doesn't have the stumble like before, hopefully the rain will pass early tomorrow and the track will open.
