ZX14R Unleashed

Finally got this project over with and I am happy with the results. This has been a 2 month project involving 50+ dyno runs and several tune files. ECU mods are: RPM limit raised to 11,400, top speed limiter removed, timing retard in lower gears removed, ECU unleashed and has a new map. Here is the dyno results with before & after. Currently waiting on pricing, I am setup to be a dealer and will be able to offer Bikeland members a special price. Email me if your interested, senodil@aol.com. PLEASE do not PM me...

The map & "project" was finished up last night about 9PM EST 4/10/12. You might have the "test map", currently there is only 1 bike with this flash & map on it.... Only thing I have requested from the programmers is to have the Traction Control remain in the last mode used when you restart the bike. That would be a very nice feature IMHO...

Yes, the flash does have fuel tune. PCV will only be necessary for people wanting to fine tune.

Brocks CT, I called Brock's support and spoke to EJ and he said "what pipe am I using?" I told him the CT and then he replied that the pipes are so close that they all use the same map (for pump gas). If you are putting a Brock's pipe on your 2012 14R, you will not need a PCV unless you are interested in tuning every possible HP out of your bike,...

*Update*
I have had a few PM's & Emails asking more specifics. Here is a quote from the guy behind the scenes..
"This new tune file is slated to be released on May 1st. There were many changes made, not only to the STPs - which were manipulated to increase intake velocity; this resulted in an increase in hp and torque in the middle, but not on top. Ignition maps were changed, as you said - everything was de-restricted: the separate gear limiters and the top speed limiter are now gone. "On/off" deceleration maps were changed to make the bike smoother through turns, and the fueling was definately changed. Ignition timing alone netted 2 more hp, while the fueling got us the other 6. Torque came up significantly across the board with some good gains in the middle. Another change has to do with modes - with this tune file the ZX14 will remain in whatever mode the bike was in when the ignition is turned off. When you turn the ignition back on, you won't have to "reset" your traction control - the bike will be in the same mode it was in when turned off. I know one guy who lost a race because stock, it has to be reset every time you restart the bike. Several people were involved in this particular tune file, many hours and dyno tuning/testing went into it. POWERHOUSE is responsible for all the fuel tuning that resulted, and all the dyno testing and data logging that got us to this point. There were other changes made internally to the ecu that I have not mentioned . . . all of it will be published when the file is officially introduced May 1st. Stay tuned! "

Hope this answers your questions.

Wow. I wonder how this compares to a Guhl's Reflashed Ecu? Can we hear a 2012 ZX14R reflash ECU shootout brewing. Did Don Guhl ever post a Dyno of his reflashed ECU yet?

A silly question perhaps, but why so (relatively) rich around 4200-5400? That would seem to hurt response and fuel efficiency for us commuters. Any way to tune that out in the flash or is it too minor and/or difficult to worry about? Also, I asked elsewhere, will this thing work in tandem w/a PC-V and a Brock's street map?

Its rich at that point because of WOT being applied... I asked and was given a technical explanation but frankly it's been a long ass day and I just don't remember. Pulled up to my house and the police were checking the perimeter & had received an "ambush alarm". Funny thing is I am the only one that lives here.LOL, go figure, time to call the alarm guy and say WTF is going on?

Par for the course on the alarm. Glad all was well. I wonder if it runs leaner at partial throttle setting (i.e.: More realistice street riding/commuting scenarios.)? I want to get this thing right and then just enjoy it. I hate all this tinkering. I just want to ride.

Thanks. I'll follow along w/the thread.
