Single 2006 OEM Exhaust Can?

Just got another 14. (to wrench on) Can a 2006 with a 4-2-1 header utilize a single OEM exhaust can? I can fabricate the inlet sleeve to fit the header pipe so no problem there but from a mechanical standpoint can a single OEM can be used rather than two? Seems the can is larger than a single muzzy can but the outlet nozzle is a bit smaller in diameter. (to mitigate sound?)
.
Any thoughts?

Too restrictive. If you open it up and gut it, perhaps.

I know its going to be restrictive. Hence quieter too. But will it be excessively restrictive.

God damn it. Hoping to stay away from the stock 2 can set-up and have one can with similiar sound characteristics.

Maybe look at other single exit oem setups, like the 12R.

Ive ran the stock single on long trips for less noise. Low end feels good from back pressure possibly. It didnt seem to strangling the motor IMO. dyno might prove otherwise. what brand of header do you have? I have a Brocks streetmeg extra..look in my classified add under WTB gen 3 dcjens

Its got the Muzzy M14 header. I can fabricate any mid-pipe and size and can make the OEM work without many issues. Just trying to get a quieter muffler I can easily fit onto the bike without spending hours swapping out the headers for a two can conversion.
.
Any quiet single can's in addition to a OEM single can set-up?

Nothing is as quiet as stock. I have a gen 3 brocks I use most of the time that I really like. I can hear it just fine around the harleys. Street meg is same as the alienhead except farther back from he ears. Earplugs and brocks is the way to go all said and done.

Yoshis arent too bad.youre better off running stock setup and getting a full system you like or slip ons so you have stockers for when you sell it

Stock requires installing headers and two pipes. Lots of labor and time just to trade out exhaust at a moments notice. Swapping out one muffler is no biggie but headers and two can's. Half day event. F*&* that.

Any yoshi can with the quiet insert will make you very happy. They are almost as quiet as stock at lower and cruising rpm's, still snarl a bit when you really get on it though, but won't restrict you down to nothing like a single majorly baffled stock can meant to do half the engines breathing.

Any end can you can get, get it in carbon...they are almost always quieter than the metal versions. Until you whack it open that is...

If you are wanting it quiet...are you really worried about power? Even in stock trim a 14 is no slouch. Cracks me up when guys are all about big HP on the street and never even get close to using it. At a track...that's another story.

I say go for it if you want it quiet. It's still gonna be plenty damn fast. Maybe find another OEM end can from another bike that you can fab up.

Go with the Yoshi if you want quiet. Heres a quick clip of the full system on my ZX14 when I installed it when my bike was 6 months old. This is with the quiet insert installed. Very Quiet and great power increase over the stock anchors. No bother to the neigbors at all.

I am going to try a zx-12 o.e.m. can. Prolly will need to make some mods to inlet but if that fails use a Yoshi slip on for a zx-12 since no single slip-on was made for our 14's.
