gen 1 don't have a reed valve ..i can't speak for a 2012 .. i do remember now that on a gen 1 that the vent hose ends into a pipe that runs up thru the battery box... to the top of air box and ends on the top between cylinder #2&3... so it can't drain back into the engine..

Wow thats ALOT of oil I've never seen a 14 do that before under any conditions. The new bike is a monster in more ways than one lol.

Guys, I have received enough feedback from enough 14R riders to realize this is a non-issue. No one even reports having a measurable amount in their little stock catch bottle.
We generate loads during our map development process that you simply cannot duplicate in the real world... Imagine land speed racing up hill!
Smokin had a good point also, I loaded the bike (for break-in) with the break-in oil also... I know it was at the full level in the window when I started. After I installed out clutch mod and poured it back-in, it was only at HALF in the window.
This topic needs to die.

Searching for information about this issue i found this topic.
Yesterday i went to a track, track day, not drag race.
I put about 80 miles in my bike, when i saw the oil in the clear bottle.. It's half full (or half empty LOL)
My bike is a zx14r 2012 with brock's CT Dual, a PCV with brock's street map, and 6000 miles..
Is this a serious problem? I tried to find information about this in the service manual, but i did't find anything..
Thank you!!!

You can do what us gen1 guys do when we boost our bikes, or run them hard and at high revs for extended periods..............we pull the oil pan off and remove the rubber hose connected to the oil pick-up tube. Stops the oil from being pushed into the airbox, or out the external breather hose if you're boosted like me.

My bike has been run a LOT harder than most of the bikes on this site, including 100+ dyno pulls, some with eddy brake loading, and also some LSR passes lasting 25+ seconds. No significant oil in my airbox.
As far as a little oil in the clear bottle, that is a very tiny amount. Nothing of concern.
