I called the factory in Italy the day before yesterday and talked to the man in race air filters. He specifically stated he had only one filter and would fed ex it to me which he did, but it is for earlier year zx14's, not our 2012 big boy.....

So I berated him about his website NOT being correct and gave him the correct dimensions of the stock unit so they could go to engineering and make some up and get them over to us ASAP...don't know if HIilary has upset them in Italy or not....so we wait unless another manufacturer can make one up.......

Onward thru the fog......!

Well UPS brought the BMC Race Filter to me today.....guess what the Part Number is...??

For those who are in doubt....there is no more doubt..it is a fact!

Yes, no doubt that is the PN listed for the gen 1. As seen in my pics, the filter cage is a different size on the two bikes.

I measured 12.25" across the bottom, and 6" down each side, 6" across the top and 1" thick for my stock unit.

If you have anything smaller than these dimensions they are for previous years ZX14's.

I think older 14's measure.....10.5 " across the bottom, 4-5/8" down the sides, and 5.25 across the top.

Sure it is my dad's site name, he is in Afganistan, so am building a surprise bike for him along with my sister, so I just use his web address here to get some expert help in putting this bike together. I value all the experience here of mature riders, so you guys are a big help in my deciding which upgrades to get and which to leave alone....

I am operating from my Iphone so don't have access to a good computer, so can't post pics but I sent several out on request last to another member here, from my phone, it has a camera so take lots of pics of bike development as things change the appearance of it.

Fed Ex is overnighting my pipes tonight, and they have been coated INSIDE and OUT, contrary to what others seem to think, so am anxious to get them on this Friday, muzzy links arrive Friday too, as well as new Pazzo's.

Why don't you come by Daytona Beach soon and maybe you can take it out for a spin.....?

It doesn't look look different from any other 2012 that has been lowered 2.5 inches just dropped the front .688 inches to allow install of a Techmount fork mount on top left, and had to slide the Apex risers down 1/4 inch to allow the Techmount to fit flush with the top of the left fork.

I even sent some pics of my sis with her C-14 out....so if you want some pics..send me your e mail.....have home work, and my part-time job in a machine shop to do then to the 14 later in the evening.....work on it til about 1 am, then bed, then alarm, school and do it all over again...so have to use my Iphone to stay in touch with vendors, and chase parts....like this air filter that I was promised was the right one...now have return shipping and a hassel of waiting for the right one.....

That is what I thought, but then someone gives him crap and all of the sudden it is a surprise for his poor deployed dad and wants us to lay off.
