Top Speed
Maybe it was discussed, but want to ask if anyone had a top end run with the 14r.
Googled the topic and found only a 315 - 317 km/h run. Not to say that it's slow but wont it be able to do a 200 mph run on stock gearing then. For that matter someone had something like a 198 mph run. So is the r then geared shorter and do you need the extra revs with the guhl flash for higher top speed.

There will be a couple running in the Ohio Mile 5 weeks from now....you may hear what they run by then. About 200 I'd say.

I can't wait to hear what they will do.
I want to bring my 2010 ZX-14 to the Texas Mile next year (if I am not deployed). Can anyone tell me what I should get with stock engine/gearing 210# rider?
In a flying mile, is it possible to hit 200?
BTW, I searched, but can't find the answer.

A few have managed 200 in the mile with stock engine. If I remember right, they were some pretty light riders. They may have used a 40 on the back though. I managed 197 on my 07 with 17 x 40, but Shiphteey managed 199 on it. Experience counts.

was that a standing mile, or top speed?
If y'all can't pull 200 in a standing mile, I seriously doubt I can.

That was at Maxton this past May. Standing Mile. We'll be at Willmington Ohio the last weekend of April. No more Maxton. I would have liked to hit 200 last year, but it was still a lot of fun. I made 24 passes on it that weekend, plus the one Ali made. All in the 190s.

The big mystery is whether the 14r will lay over on top like the gen 1 has a reputation for doing. I've seen some powerful 14's that seemed to hit either an aero or electronic wall. I imagine we will see a small jockey or two run in Ohio, and I will have mine there to see what it does in average hands.

Seen the following when I googled 14r top speed. 2 Japanese guys tested a 14r and a busa. Looks like they run into a restriction with the revs at 11 000. Seems like the 14 get there a bit faster compared to the busa! So does it mean the bike is restricted with the revs or both. Can't remember that my 07 ran into a restriction so early in the rev range or is the gearing so short.
I do have a vortex 40 at home that might help!
