I forgot to say, I have not seen a 17 inch car slick? I looked through several manufacturers, I found nothing. This was about a year ago. Maybe they make something now.

I feel your pain. my 14 turbo would miss 4th and 5th or just not shift at all under full power on the big end. And it didn't matter how much kill time you had. I bought a used trans off of Ebay and sent it to R&D to have a full race cut trans done. I then pulled the motor and split the case to put it in. about 6 hours to do it. while I was in I put some new rod bearings in even though they didn't have a lot of miles on them. And it fixed the problem. It shifted under power in the upper gears like butter. I think the service was just under 1K. They do more than just undercut the trans. bottom line it fixed my problem. I started seeing signs of the shifting problems when I was using a 50 shot on it before the turbo. you can have your wheel widened to 7" inch. But the trans work fixed my shifting problems.

i'm glad to finally hear i'm not the only one to go thru this on a zx14 ..my mis-shifts started way back too 4 years ago.. i can't tell you how many races i lost due to it.. i wrote it off as 2 men enter 1 man leaves shitty track .. but in the last 6 months i could not take losing that way no more... what really pissed me off was a summit super series race ..where i had both tech cards going into the 1/4's and it mis-shifted both races back to back .,. and it really sux's when you get the run ticket and see how bad you drilled the other guy on the tree .. just to give it up.. i got enough problems redlighting
i'm looking into the transmission repair ...i'm getting less pissed at the bike since a week has gone by.. but i still can't walk by it and not call it a mudda fukker... and i'm not racing it until its fixed...i missed a points race today but i ain't going out and going thru this crap again ..

why can't i send a rear rim to kosman and get it widen to accept a car tire... i think a 215 50 17 or something in that neck of the woods..
i had a couple of 205/50/17's on the stock wheel /swingarm ...... there wasnt alot of room to go wider without spacing out the sprockets.

yeah on the stock swingarm .. BUT when they cut and reweld the rim they can off set the tire over to the brake side more

why not test a 205/50 and see how that does ? sounds like you would spend alot of money for 10mm more width.

Had an undercut built trans on my boosted blackbird- never miss shifted and spun everywhere.
But- damn near impossible to footshift if you had too.

Get the trans work. And you should be good, I was making 390RWHP with no shifting problems at all. I can't remember who bought the trans on here when I parted it out. I know 01 got the turbo kit. Broke the whole 06 14 and sold it piece by piece. just had a few bolts left over. It brought way more by parting it than I could have sold it for. But it sure was a pain in the butt.
