$5000 for my bike
Me and a buddy rode to a dealership to look at new helmets and jackets for the wife and saw another buddy that works there. We got to talkin and asked me if I saw the new 14R limited edition they had just got in. I was all over it! Just for the hell of it, I got him to see what they would give me for my 07. I was kinda shocked when they said it was only worth about $4600, but they would give me $5000 and that would leave me with payments of $229 for 60 months. I didn't go through with it. Seemed a little too high to me being that I've read on here about people getting them for like $14,000 or $15,000 out the door.

Sell it yourself and then go buy one... Never work payments first... Negotiate on the price ... My 2 cents
U can get alot more for your bike than 5k.

That is wholesale value and it is what it is... Then they ask 8k for it and sell it for 7k and make big profit which they are in the business to make profit but not from me..
I went the other day looking at some bikes and he had a left over 2011 busa and convince me to buy it for 10600.. I asked give me a drive out price and it came out to 12600!!!! Wtf...

U can get alot more for your bike than 5k.
+1. Yeah, I didn't even run the numbers with trading my bike at the dealer....you will ALWAYS pay heavily for such convenience. I sold my '06 with low miles and some good parts on it for $7,500. Then I bought my SE for $14600 otd (including all sales tax and DMV fees). I've seen some guys back east have gotten even better deals but there is enough info on this forum to give you a good ballpark figure of what to pay.
