measured over the forward most bolt on the clip on, 1-3/4" tube up through trees, the only thing that touches is the fender rubs the black panel under the headlight fairing under braking and bigger bumps. the rear of the fender is really close to the rad, but never touched it. i do have a wear line on the crown of the fender where it rubs though, looks like the paint is faded, but it is under the nose and to really easy to see since the bike is so low. but it's taken 20k miles to do it so i guess it'll have to be ok, because i'm not buying a new one(fender) or raising it back up. LOL

Oh yeah! i did pop it up at the track and slam it down knocking those little plastic rivets out the sides of that panel. but since the front screw and side tabs hold it in place, i never put them back. so that something else to look out for if you go that low

i don't think you'll have any problem at 1". i did crank in alot of preload on mine though, but it needed it anyway since i'm 240lbs in jeans.
i'd say, add a couple of turns to be safe

i have it in the middle hole of 3 hole adj. dogbones for the street. when i originally lowered it it was pretty even front to rear with stock 120/70. maybe a little lower in the front. then i went to shinkos and it was a good bit lower in the front (120/60). now I'm installing a set of pilot pures (even shorter than shinko 120/60) so I'll probably slide the tubes back down some to compensate.

so having the front and rear lowered at different measurements hasn't messed with stability or anything?

it still handles fine to me. it's not a lot of difference, maybe 1/4"-3/8" difference front to rear. but if you get the rear much lower than the front, it will push pretty bad in turns, that's why i run it in the middle hole on the street.
just measure straight up from the rear axle, before and after you lower, then take the same amount out of the front. then test ride it and see how you like it. then make adjustments from there.
fully adjustable dog bones are a lot better because you can set the back exactly where you want it.

Thanks guys I had read some where before that the horn would contact the radiator if lowering too much.
