Back fires

peeps,
I have a back firing problem on deceleration, i use pump gas at 93 octane. I have a pcv and auto tune, stacks, fliesout, whole pipes system wrapped, H.I.D lights, bmc air filter, been dynoed, 16/43 and thats about it. any ideas would be helpful

Thanks

Have you installed block-off plates? Here is a link to read about:

Even if you install the block off plates (which you don't really need if everything is capped off properly), you will still have a bit of backfire or a pop on decel. It is just the nature of beast and nothing to worry about. Also, you don't need 110 octane, it will hurt horsepower on a stock compression motor. You don't actually need 93 octane, at the track I use 87 and on the street for a little more knock protection I just use 89.

I like the flames at night. My buddies all talk about it. The popping is cool. Lou D
