NOS engine build need advice
My engine has 2200 miles on it going to disassemble this weekend. About 75 of those miles are 1/4 mile NOS passes on a 40shot. My question is can i re-use my rings off the stock pistons on drop in JE piston and do i need to hone the cylinders? Plaining to spray approx. 130 dry shot . Any advise will be very helpful on my engine build. Thanks in advance..

new pistons should come with rings , and I havent seen any JE pistons that use kawasaki rings
always hone the cylinders
have the rods bushed or buy aftermarket rods

someone told me that JE Pistons was using stock rings. If this is the case I would deftly replace the rings as nitrous is very hard on rings. The cylinders use a chrome plating type surface that is extremely hard. It takes a diamond hone to read hone it. if it was mine I would just put new rings in it and go for it.

Stock bore je pistons dont come with rings. You should order new rings and you dont hone, but just a deglaze to the walls. And you'll be good.

Going to order new rings Monday. Will oem rings work on JE pistons or do I need to contact JE for rings? Is it a good idea to use a dingle berry to deglaze?

no need to buy pistons or rods, your stock ones will hold up fine to 130-150 hp shot.
However, you do need adam performance valve springs kit.
