More 8.52 runs ... No 8.40s :(

84 deg when i got to the track , 10 MPH wind out of the east .. This was a cross wind but at times it was a little bit of a head wind also .. DA 1600 above sea level .. Only got a few runs in because of so many cars and so many damn cars oiling down the track ..One car dumped gas all the way down the track ..

First run was the best of the night 8.52. Flat @ 156.52 .. The bike hooked good at the starting line but spun the tire in 4th and 5th ... This happen all night , hooking good then spinning on the top end .. Track prep was bad and the guy working the lanes told me they only sprayed the track one time earlier in the day for some guys that rented the track ..

I had a 8.52 , 8.53 and a 8.54 But i did have my best ever 1/8 mile ET on the first run ..5.43 @ 129.94 .. The 8.52 flat was my best ever pass also , not much better but still it was a bit better..

By the way that was a fully loaded Vmax in the other lane .. He ran some high 9.90s ... Brock pipe , Nash flash and tune , BST wheels and a ton of carbon fiber parts .. Very nicely done Vmax ..

great 1/8 mile numbers, and I guess you cant complain about the consistency.

too bad there isnt an 8.52 class.... you would never loose.

looks like I need to get rid of my half-ass hp robbing stroker and get a stock bike ....

maybe next year

What really gets me about this bike is no matter what the air ( Hot or Cold , low DA or high DA ) It still runs 8.52 .. No head wind or 15 MPH head wind or a 10 MPH side wind it still goes 8.52 .. My MPH does change but the ET doesn't ..

Next up is installing the ZX14R P/C and a Brocks Map .. Any bets it will run 8.52 again ....

I'll bet if it does, Brock won't be selling many mapped PCs for the 14R..... but doubtful Kawi engineers didn't leave room for improvement. I'll take a wild guess and say 8.39 with PC and traction.

Compair this video of my old 06 ZX14 to my ZX14R ... It really tells the story of the difference in power between the two bikes ..

Didn't the '06 have the advantage of a mapped PC on that 8.81 pass, Lee? Pump gas?

Yes the 06 was mapped with a P/C .. Not sure if that was on pump gas or not .. I did play with U4 and MR9 back then ..It has been so long ago i don't remember .. I'm pretty sure my 06 used MR9 to go 8.77 and i know my 09 went 8.76 on pump gas ..

I know someone is going to ask about the wheel bearings .. Did they help ? Well looking at the 1/8 miles numbers the wheel bearings did seem to help .. MPH was up in the 1/8 mile plus i had my best ever ET in the 1/8 mile .. I can't say if they helped in the 1/4 mile because of the tire spinning on the big end of the track killing my MPH .. Next time if we get better track prep we should see what they are worth in the 1/4 mile .. One thing for sure is they didn't slow me down any ..

His tune must be totally fucked if he is gonna pick up that much, I don't think a pc is gonna pick up much. The bike is scooting damn good already he is gonna have to fight for every hundredth now

I agree 100% ... It's going to be a battle for every hundreth of a second .. I'm sure the tune will help some but i don't see any big big gains coming .. I'll test it and find out for sure but i think I need to start looking at some weight loss on the bike.. A good race air filter with a good map may help also ..

I started off at 18 PSI and lowered it from there , didn't help with the spining on the top end .. Remember I'm running a 008 slick ) The slick was off my 09 and is pretty much done .. That could be some of the problem .. Going with a shinko hook up this next time around ..

Yeah, I forgot the computer has already been flashed, but figured traction might still be worth a decent amount.

008 wears like iron lol. It's a good tire and I can't say nothing bad about it for the track. On the street it wouldn't work for me like the hook up does. The hook up does not last near as long as the 008 but still offered me the same traction. Both tires went 1.32-1.34 often and only spun on the 4-5 shift every now and than, But that was due to track conditions and not tire.

A 5.43 in 1/8 is great for a stock motored bike. I love it. Wish I could do that spraying nitrous. Very good job, Lee.

1bad, PM Lee about his MR12 experience.

What Lee needs is an extra inch or two of length so he can bust out a 1.2 something 60'!

lee, those numbers look great.you have to be scaring them boys in Florida with those reaction times. LOL . I figured up all six of those runs you posted back half et, and all six of them were in the 3.07 two 3.08 et. Looks like nothing big to be picked up their. The back half horsepower to weight is about 220 hp with ram air @ 670 pounds bike and rider. outside of using better gas. I think your biggest gain would come from a longer swing arm. I use the shinko 200 drag radial, it actually worked better than their flat slick. I'm not saying that a power commander and a better track wouldn't help. Obviously it will. I wished you had a Wego three, a great weapon to have for gathering information, not only does it give great air fuel numbers, but it also shows wheelspin and throttle position, no dino tuner will ever be able to re-create conditions going down the track as far as air fuel. And when you get back from the run. You'll be able to download the run and see if there was wheelspin, what the air fuel was all away through the run, and how much did I let off the throttle in low gear? a lot of information four 350 or $400. I hope you make the number you're looking for, but time is running out quickly in the good air department.
