2012 noise

Just took my bike to work for the first time. There is a noise coming from the engine in 5th gear around 4 thousand rpm on up. It sounds like eeeeeee! Do you guys have any idea what is going on? My bike has only 70 miles on it.

Could it be the transmission whining? It is a brand new bike... My bike had all sorts or whines until I put the Brock's CT on it.... Now I can't hear them :-)

Thats the engine wanting to wake up. Twist a lil more and you will hear uuuughhhh (moan). That will be from you when that power between your legs makes you bust a nut... Lol
On a serious note, my bike has just under 300 miles and I hear no similar noise. Mind you I didnt try to but now I will be on the lookout or I should say earout.

I had a similar high pitched noise in 5th gear on my 2012 ZX-14R. As the number of miles clocked up the noise became less and less. I put it down to proper wearing in of the gearbox and nothing to be worried about.
