When I lowered mine 1 1/4" (the shortened kickstand came in two days later) it stood up with the stock kickstand, but uncomfortably straight. I was afraid that a good wind would blow it over.

Do yourself a favor and buy a shortened kick stand it isn't worth the risk or the worry. If you want to save money http://www.ebay.com/itm/T-Rex-Kawasaki-06-11-ZX14-kickstand-Lowered-Adjustable-side-Kick-Stand-/290648171695?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item43abfb24af

Totally agree with all the advice to shorten your stand or buy a shorter one if you lower your bike. I cut the foot off mine, sawed a little off of the stand and welded the foot back on again. A quick spray with black gloss and you couldn't tell it from the original. Cheaper I know but effective if you have the workshop to do it.
I did have the dubious honour of helping a friend of mine pick his bike up after the wind blew it over, he had a lowered bike and standard length stand.
