True story and I may go that route. But, I'd rather spend less money and less hassle for a slip-on system for better low-mid power and better economy on public roads, if it gets rid of the cats (And maybe even if it doesn't.). The bike already has ample power for any road-going task. That's where the thread started.

It doesn't come up for me. What's the gist of the thread? Tell me something good and you and I will be tight.

Just copy and paste it into your browser it will come up. There are photos of the header and all it shows inside is a diverter directing the exhaust flow to each section of the Y.

Got it, thanks...I just went around again w/Brocks and TBR. Both of them have been very helpful, so I'm certainly not bad-mouthin anyone. However, it seems they sort of presumed the bulge in the header was a cat, instead of this "air flow, divider plate thingie" (Don't let the technical terminology confuse or intimidate you.) some have reported. Obviously, neither of them tore open the header to confirm what it was. The folks at TBR were nice enough to call Kawi (I presume they actually did...) and got the scoop. He says the divider plate is actually a "high-flow cat" in the header that sort of prestages the more restrictive plates in the cans. It seems to make sense to me and he was very helpful, so I presume that's the actual deal. Anyone know enough to call "Bologna" on it?

Don't have any pics of the one we cut up, but there is a "divider plate" in the large round section of the collector. I figured that's just what it was: a divider. If that piece is some sort of catalyst, that'd be pretty awesome... perhaps like the single wire MAF's vs the Screen-Style MAF's you see in the automotive industry...? Didn't look like anything special though.

However, there is no traditional "honeycomb-style" cat in the stock header. That help any?

I would highly doubt that is a cat. Probably some minimum wage customer service guy who makes up an answer to get you off the phone like so many other "experts".

That's always possible, though that's not the impression I got. And, as a reminder: Both TBR and Brocks folks said there was a cat in the header. I don't think this guy was a "minimum wage" fellow and I certainly don't think that's the case w/Brocks folks. I've done a lot of business w/TBR and some w/Brocks, prior. I'll take him at his word until/unless someone proves differently, I reckon.

Thanks for all the feedback. I'll keep my eyes and ears open.
