quote: The roll ons I have been doing are simply proving the point that the 14R from the factory bone stock is the fastest production bike in the world as Kawasaki has said and as I have been proving the last 8 days since I have bought it. It's all about the BIKE.
Hayabusa owners will argue that the original Busa was the "fastest" production bike as it was unrestricted and hit over 190 in "official" speed tests.
The 14R is limited to only 186 (maybe even 184) so it's not the fastest - bone stock.
It IS the QUICKEST, proven by roll-on racing - NOT! That is proven at the drag strip - the timers are very accurate and sometimes very cruel ..............................

In modern rivalries, the BMW S 1000 RR may be "faster" - bone stock.
I don't think that it is bound by the Japanese "gentlemen's agreement."
The LSR guys could probably answer this.

For those that say its so easy, go down to S.FL and ping Sal and get a lane with him at the 9/10ths. Its not as easy as you think.
If any of you are in the DC area you can contact me and we can play.
Its just like when a roadracer looks at drag racing and goes "WOW LOOK HOW HARD THAT IS....GOING FAST IN A STRAIGHT LINE"
Until you go out there and actually do it your argument has no weight.

Ding Ding Ding...We have a winner....You stated very clearly yourself....Drag Racing and Roll On Racing....Two entirely different types of racing.....Think of it as NHRA and F1 / Moto GP....Both involve cars and bikes but just different.

So does the best rider win a roll on race or does the fastest bike win?

And if you have an air shifter or auto shifter where's the skill? Just twist the throttle and hang on. Is it fun to wind up 2 bikes side by side? Sure it is! Does it require much if any skill? NOT!

hey dude with all the respects you don't own this forum and people can talk about everything other than drag racing.. this is about zx14 not just drag racing.. when you have your own then you can decide what you want to do.
some people don't give a fu@@ how skill you are, they just probably want to see how quick their bike is in other ways other than drag race.. you think drag racing is the only way, in my opinion i disagree but i don't go make a new thread bitching about this place turn to roll on place or drag place ..
With all the respects to you as well, never did I say I owned the forum, nor do I want to own a forum. Your right, they can talk about whatever they want, but I'm asking why not do it from a dead start? It sounds like I offended you. If I did, my bad.
I don't think drag race is the only way, but drag race/roll on race is almost the same thing, except roll ons require zero skill. I'm not going to say I've never done it, but I don't go around trying to grudge race from a roll. Lol
Btw, I wasn't bitching, just poking fun at you guys
Hey bud you are very wrong about Roll On Racing requiring no skill....I watched a Gen 2 Busa piped and tuned get worked by a 2011 R1 on Saturday night. As a matter of fact it was not even a close race. The stock R1 put 5 Bikes on the piped and tuned Busa and never looked back.

errybody always wants to dis the other person because their ideas differ....IMO drag racing from a dig is cool and does prove skillz are involved. But a stock 2012 ZX14R with me on it drag racing RG on a stock ninja 650 will prove NOTHING other than i get there first. Roll on racing is
" like you said " popping up everywhere and becoming more popular. I think its cool and different as well. I like all fast stuff and all kinds of racing in many different forms. I would be willing to bet you on heads up even bikes Dynasty Spulock 120lb self would bust your ass and then what? Exactly...Its all good and fun, try to enjoy.

Nope, they are not! I dusted two of them on Sunday. One with pipe and power commander but with a heavy rider that evened out the weight and the other stock but with a 100lb advantage to the S1000. I beat them both with ease!

OK, I'll agree that roadracing and drag racing are both very demanding, both mentally and physically, but in different ways, so there's not much crossover of skills.
However, isn't a rollon race just a drag race that bypasses the launch from a dead stop and adds pinning the throttle a little longer? Oops, forget that second part as the other thread talks about 60 - 130 and most of us are hitting close to that in an 1/8th mile.
What skills does a rollon racer have that a drag racer doesn't?

Roll ons. We are just trying to see who has the fastest bike not who is the best rider/racer. It is kinda like the dyno shoot outs where people put their bikes on the dyno to see who makes the most power but this adds in the real world and ram air. There has been hundreds of thousands of dollars spent by people to win dyno shootouts. My opinion is there are a lot of ways for people to scratch the itch of high performance. These are just some of them.

I would say probably none to be honest....I would actually say a GOOD drag racer is the best of both worlds. Just my opinion though.

you proved nothing .. except that you got the race you picked...i know my 05 zx10 would power wheelie in stock form at over 100mph AND ITS NO WHERE NEAR THE BMW'S CLAIMED POWER ..
