zx6 clutch springs

I read somewhere that the supersoft clutch springs that mtc and snitz sells are from a zx6 anyone know what year it is?

Good question. I tried to find that out too. I gave up and bought them from MTC. I have tried them in for fit and never run them, but the Suzuki GS1000-1100 springs fit and are almost as light feeling as the MTC super soft. Dont know if they fit over the shim step on MTC lockups though. Work fine with the Cycle logic.

No, you wont hurt it but you may have to shim the springs up anyway. I run about 30-35 lbs seat pressure per spring now and I weigh 240-245 suited up. At a factory stack height of 2.140 that would be around .100 shim each spring. Depends on your weight and gearing really.

If its a brand new clutch pack start with .050 shims until the pack is good and worn in then go to .100 shims. Go up or down .025 at a time to get the feel you want, or just throw the lever away if thats whats desired.

I dont see where the regular lockups help 60's as much as they help consistency. If you are in the mid 1.40's already, maybe it wont help at all but if in the 1.50's I can see it helping a good bit. It has more to do with you understanding what is happening when the clutch goes to work so you can tune it. When that is fully understood then getting what you want out of it , within reason, is entirely up to your tuning ability.

if youre hunting for a better 60ft. try playing around with stack heigth. 2.14 is not enough for me. i run mine at 2.17. but i dont have a lock up, only springs and spacers.
