Fuel mileage on the 2012R?
I'm riding as a commuter, as an old coot don't use much power. Getting 43 mpg on low power and just 29.5 mpg on high power. There is a big difference between the two settings. The highest temp so far has only been 41 degrees F, on the days without snow or rain. Won't ride on salty wet roads, so far in three weeks only made 250 miles. Good weather is just a day of riding for 250 miles. Made 43K miles on the old 07 turbo stage 1. This new 14 is unreal. Makes power every where, no peaks where the power is in a narrow band. Peak HP is crap and not very usuable. Power at all rpms makes all the diff.

Ive never tried in low power mode. Doesnt make a dif in power till after 5k rpm. I get 20km/l @ 100km/hr no problem.

I'm interested in this, as well, though I know most aren't. I'm a street rider and commuter, so the mpg matters. Now, if I'm playing, then I don't care. Just picked the bike up last night so we'll see how it goes. Mpg aside, this thing is very refined and smooth, w/great power. It also seems to handle much better than the 1st gen. All that w/only a few miles under its belt, of course. Very sweet, so far. I expect that to continue and improve.

Well... I know this is stating the obvious.. but if fuel efficiency is what you are after, there are far better choices than a zx-14 or 14r. That said, I like to track my MPG out of pure curiosity when I am on road trips or whatever.. so I get the interest, but I think being realistic about what you have chosen to ride will serve you better. At the very least, admitting it to yourself, long before the disappointment sets in. High performance machine with a big motor... big fuel. Like I said.. stating the obvious.

Yep, different folks after different things. That's all well and good. I like it all. Great bike, it seems. Looking forward to 40+ mpg when just commuting around. I know there's great power and good handling when I want to play. And it's all wrapped in a very classy, smooth, high-end package. Good stuff. We'll see.

I know this is off the topic. My 2009 gets about 32MPG with the 16/43 gearing. But I like fun!!If I want to commute I drive my Mustang GT.Oops 17 MPG my bad.Went for a ride today.I hit 7 grand in second and the front end just popped up.Wasn't ready for that.Forgot how much fun these things are. Can't wait for my turn for a Zx14R.

I put over two hundred miles on mine on Sun. and we were getting it on. Hit 183mph several times and was cruising in the 120-140mph range most of the day and the average MPG according to the on board computer was 28mpg. Not bad considering how we were riding.

So far...350 miles....Ktrc off...power "F" I'm getting 33-35 mpg with some faster runs kinda like BobK.She's getting now what my 07 got on her best day...no flies and PCIII installed.TiForce pipes...so I'm optimistic about my new bird...but even if she doesn't increase...that's fine.33 is fine with me.LOVE this bike...All stock here.Seriously happy having the new 14R...Just great!

I always got 35MPG on my 09 until I lowered the gearing. Then it went to about 32MPG.No biggie especially with the fun factor in.At the time I bought mine it was at the top or near it for fast bikes.Wonder what a Lambo gets.Closet car in speed I can think of.I had a 68 GTX with a 440 in it.All stock. It would do 160 and got 6MPG after a tune up.But boy could it smoke the tires.Love those old Mopars.426 Hemi ain't bad either.
