14R flies out?
So is there a definite answer on removing the flies or not? I have mines completely broken down except for the gas tank and head light fairing, and was thinking of removing them while I have the bike apart.

Smokin - Does it cause any issues with your TC, or do you switch it off?

T/C works just like it did with the flies in place .. But i turn off the T/C while racing .. The flies seem to have nothing to do at all with the T/C ..

well i was able to get them off but not without some crued handy work. Two of the screws on the left side i ended up stripping and had to break the heads off. I was able to get what was left of the screws flush with the shaft and applied a dab of loctite as an extra precaution.
I turned the ignition on and verified the shaft moved back and forth and proceeded to start the bike and had no codes, so i am assuming the shaft is not bent. Would that be enough to verify that the shaft is not bent and that the bike wont throw any codes pertaining to the secondaries?

I bent my shaft because i was doing some testing and had the flies in and out a few times ... If you bent the shaft and it binds up you will get a code 62 .. And the T/C light will start flashing .. I had to remove my TB and fix the bent shaft ...Not an easy job , but it is fixable ..

Does the secondary removal make a significant difference as it did on the Gen. 1's or not so much? I heard it became less needed on the latter bikes.

Believe it or not i rode it a full day with no problems ... The very next day they tossed a code when i was loading up to go to the track ... The still moved but were very stuff.. As the night went on it got so bad the just locked up .. I could not turn them with a channel locks ..after that each time i turned on the bike it toss a code 62

It's doesn't do as much as my 06 did ... It was more like my 09 as far as the gains .. There is power to be had and i want all i can get , so i removed them ..

NO .......You have to completey take them apart ... If yours doesn't toss a code in a day or so don't lose any sleep over it ..
