Gearing for standing mile? (gen 1)

Hi all!

What would be best gearing for standing mile?
Mods: PCV+QS, pipe, speedo healer, (40 shot, not sure about that yet). I have 190/55 rear tire.

Gearing commander is familiar, but I´m not sure about calculating right gearing because of slip (how much?) and what is safe max RPM. Maybe 18/41 or 17/40 to try max 200mph?

I´ve been only couple of times at strip, so all advice's are very welcome. 182 was my best last summer with all stock (but slip-ons), mirrors on etc. That run can be seen *here*

I topped out at 197.xxxx on mine with 17 x 40. That was NA and on a 180 x 55 tire. Same day Ali did 199.xxx on my bike with same gearing.

I broke 200 with stock gearing at the standing mile. On other days when it is windy it wont pull red line with stock gearing. It will depend a lot on your size and the conditions at the track on that given day as to which gearing you will need to run.

Thanks!
Maybe I should go with 17/40 then?. Or should I wait until I get my bike to Dyno and see curves? How about lowering? How much do you gain top speed with slamming the bike, if any? I was thinking only to remove mirrors and plate.
I would consider myself as average size, 174cm/72kg (5,7/158 US, me thinks).

Drop 1 or 2 teeth on the back and see what happens. Don't overgear the bike but you don't want to be on the limiter either.

Your weight ... maybe low/mid 190s n/a? So squeezin a 40 ... maybe -1 or 2 on the back.

Good luck....takes a while to get the hang of it.
