Brocks SingleSlip on 14R ?
Does anyone know from looking at the 14R exhaust system if it would be possible to have a single slip on set up that would work? A friend of mine just put down 202hp with the stock pipes so I was thinking a single slip on would be cost efficient and probably get good results. Would it need just a different mid pipe?

Is not going to happen... Either dual slip on or full system.. for a little more money I will get full system... Gives you more performance and less weight.

how could it be any worse than stock mufflers? the exit on 1 side of the header is the same size as smeg midpipe. they just slip mufflers on zx10s all the time.

It is not the size of the pipe but the flow design that I was getting at.

Rick, do you have any pics of what it looks like under the bike with how you routed and capped everything?

teddy how do you figure its choked up? the outlet is the same size as a brocks smeg system. that is a brocks smeg midpipe, with a muzzy muffler with no baffling inside. also the muzzy muffler is the same size inlet outlet as a smegaphone.

The bike is beautiful.
The stock header is only 8.8 lbs, so you also ditched a lot of weight. If the outlet is the same as the smeg, I don't see an issue?

Guess it all depends on how the gases are routed out the stock header.

That is the only problem that I could see, I would think that the exhaust wouldn't be routed very efficiently, might have some reversion problems.

That's the same idea I was after: a single can slip-on w/a modified/designed mid-pipe. It sounds like it oughtta' be cheaper than a full exhaust, PC, and tune/map. I would think a single-sided slip-on would not require a remap or the added cost of the full system. I think some talented someone somwhere should make it happen. Unfortuantely, I have no talent for such things. I do have a little money to spend, though...

We recently tested our dual slip-ons for the 14R... picked up about 3-4 hp peak and 7-8 in the middle. I'm torn the same as always with slip-ons because the part that makes the power is the part you can't see and the performance enthusiast in ME just can't justify the expense vs. gain. But we have plenty of people who are willing to pay $840 retail for a great look and sound, balanced look, easy install, no mapping hassle and not be bothered with minimal power gains because they feel their bike is already fast enough.
Btw: a single sided slip-on will never happen on this bike - at least not from Brock's!

Yeah, that seems likely since they didn't make one for the 5 + years that the Gen 1 was out.

Yeh, I'm not betting, or waiting, on it. Though it would be great...If you buy the dual slip-ons, the full system is not much more. May as well go all the way by then. It looks like another of your full systems is in the cards. I'm waiting on spring, in any event. And for all you tech guys to get everything figured out first. A thousand thanks for that.
