Excellent! I would have loved to take my 14R down to Sal, but the 2k miles roundtrip and required leave has held me back...

Shane, I'm just going to leave it stock and just do pipe, pc, and ecu for speed restriction and when all this becomes available we will tune it.

OK, here is the scoop. I mounted my GPS and went out on our closed course LOL. I find that the speed O is reading about 5 mph faster than you are going when at 100mph. I did a number of full out runs and found the bike hitting what felt like the soft limiter at 183mph. This was right around 10,900-11,000 indicated rpm. I didn't feel like pushing it any further but I don't think it was going to go any faster as I had it pinned for a bit. It will interesting to see if it will pull past that once the restriction is removed in the ecu. My guess is that it will as it built up to that speed pretty easily not your usual 1 or 2 extra mph after a fashion. As a side note I ran a 2009 Busa with a Brocks Alien head full system, pc and Brocks map and romped him so bad I felt sorry for the guy. This bike really runs!
THANKS KAWASAKI !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I forgot to add that the bike is totally bone stock as I picked it up from the dealer. Just broke it in per MotoTune.

Bob, Guhl told me that the initial stage of the speed limiter comes in around 183, but full effect at 186. I also have found the speedometer to read a bit high. Keep in mind that that tachometer reads as much as 500 rpm over true rpm, from my testing.

Awesome bike, glad you like it!

Shane, I wonder where they are getting their reading from because the speed O is buried by that time so it is indicating way beyond the 183-186 range. You would think if it is taking it off what the speed O says that the soft limited would come on around 178 real speed which it doesn't.

I don't know...but the speed signal is electronic, whereas the gauge reading is dependent on the cal of the needle/display....

one of the reports here somewhere mentioned the front anti skid brake pickup gave the ecu its signal for speed limiter
if thats right i wonder if you could order a custom disc with less holes

How long till you can give us a real world answer to the original post Shane ?? Texas mile ??

My bike is derestricted through the the Guhl reflashed ecu...the limiter doesn't come in until 297 mph.

Leaving individual way and accompanied by a pilot of Kawasaki as guide - by 4º track and we by 3º- sent ourselves to 200 km/h in brief seconds until reaching km 3, soon to open gas thoroughly. I have to confess that what surprised to me more, more than the own terminal velocity, it was the facility with which reached it, with that perfect mixture of pure power, even aerodynamic motor and cuidadísima. When opening gas in 6ª to 200 km/h still can be perceived perfectly how ZZR 1400 pushes your buttock, while the needle of the speedometer - yes, of needle of all the life it begins to raise, it reaches the ray easily where they would have to be the 300 km/h - the last indicated figure is the one of 280 km/h, by ethical reasons and follows further on… until the ignition is cut. Yes, yes, you have read well! It cuts the ignition in 6ª, and if not outside thus, it would follow and follow… With a mobile GPS we reached the 309 km/h in a measurement and 321 km/h in another one. More trustworthy it was the radar of pistol of the people of Kawasaki, that registered 317 km/h… absolute record for a series motorcycle.
