Help - PCIII question for my ZX14

Looking for some help here:

I have a 2008 ZX14, and found a used PCIII USB for sale - part # 224-410 that I want to buy.

I am getting a custom map made by a local tuner for my Akrapovic Evolution exhaust.

Does anyone know if this PC will work?

Called Dynojet Tech Support and they said that # 224 is designated for 2006-2007 ZX14's and it may work, but it is not the designated PC for the 2008. The designated 2008 PC is # 234.

Any help appreciated.

Well according to Dynojet you need part number 234-411, PCV gives you a few more options, especially for a tuner... If you want the most out of your bike consider the PCV. Also the Akra is a good exhaust but realistically you're not going to gain more than 4-5 with a tune over the baseline Akra map on the powercommander site. Might as well save the $$$ and put it into something performance related like sprockets which is the best bang for the buck. Good luck!

Thank you everyone for the help.

My tuner feels confident that this will work. He said no need for a PCV because I do not plan to run a 2nd map or air shifter.

I will post up how this all went and provide dyno #'s if everything goes well.

Update:

The Dynojet PCIII #224 worked on my 2008 ZX14.

Plan to bring the bike to my tuner for full custom map with my new Akrapovic Evolution exhaust.

Will follow up with dyno sheet hp numbers.

Thanks again for the help.

I just purchased a new 224-410 and yoshi pipes for my 2007 and Was creamed by a truck last month before I had a chance to install then. I did take them out of the package and was getting ready for the winter project. So they are not in the package. I now have a new 2011 14. I was told the 224-410 would not work on my 2011, and the yoshi will. Anybod know one way or the other if the PCIII will or will not. I do not see why not, same engine, pretty much. I want to install the pipes and a pc just to tune it to the pipes. Nothing dramatic, just hate the looks of the stock pipes. If does not I am will to let the pc go for really really really cheap price, just to help out a fellow rider. Not free mind you. just hate dealing with ebay or c-list.
