Welcome to the ZX14 forum:

Smokin has done some very good comparisons of the old and new. Shane as well.

I'd start reading on those two first.

And yeah: It's a dumb question, start reading ...

i got the se too. 1 thing i liked better was bodywork easier to deal with on older zx14,also i wished we had the option of no on the trac control and power modes. i know you can turn it off but damn i think it still works some . other than that no problems.

Congrats on your purchase, and welcome to the forum.

This thread has links to most of my testing and impressions of the new bike:

I spent a lot of time riding, racing, and doing mods to my '07, which I still own. My girlfriend has an '06 with mods. I think you will find that overall the 14R is a significant upgrade!

Thanks all. Thanks for the welcome.I;m very happy with mine...very.I've messed some with the KTRC.Been riding in the OFF position...but didn't attempt to wheelie. She did however burn rubber in first. And second.Set it to "1"...she wheelied easily and smoothly set back down.So I think the KTRC will completely turn off...it seemed like it to me anyway?
I came from an 07 Plasma Blue with minor mods. This bike is a very sweet upgrade for me.Thanks again for your comments and welcome.

That KTRC..which you most likely know already..will reset to "1" every key cycle.Kind of a hassle,but it's okay.Easy to forget.Probably better this way."1" isn't too bad.
